Good for motion, bad for light
As a motion detector, this thing has been great. Unfortunately, I bought it for the light sensor, as well.I'm using Smartthings, and it was easy to pair and has great sensitivity. The mount has a strong magnet that surprised me by firmly latching onto some metal behind the wall. Nice!Sadly, the light sensor has a defect that renders it useless for detecting changes in light levels. It can be bright and sunny, but every four hours (~4 hrs 30 sec) it incorrectly tells Smartthings that the lux (light) reading is zero -- pitch black. The light sensor was half the reason I bought this product. If the light sensor wasn't included at all, and I had bought this just for the motion detector, I would have given it five stars; however, since one of two big features of this product is defective, and the company isn't answering, I'm forced to give this two.I wouldn't buy this, again. There are other motion sensors in my house that I bought for half the price that do as good of a job at detecting movement, and the other feature doesn't work right because of Dome's flawed code.

nice solid performance but expensive
Easy install to my Wink2 Hub ( make sure you are within few feet from the hub). I can confirm that adjustments to sensitivity and status light on/off function available from wink2 hub app. Response time in less than 1 second, will update in a few weeks if any issues.3 weeks update:I can confirm that this sensor works as expected and solid with zero interruptions, as some one mentioned before if you are away for more than 2 days it will alarm you that it’s disconnected but in reality it’s not and all you have to do just walk by thisbsensor and it will reconnect again to wink with no intervention needed. - muc better product than sylvania motion sensor that kept disconnecting every 3-8 days.

Overall, a great Z-wave Plus motion sensor for SmartThings
I have 17 of these motion sensors in a smart home setting with over 100 Z-wave devices working well with SmartThings; these are one of my favorite Z-wave Plus motion sensors. I like that I can change some of the settings (such as the red LED motion indicator, which I wanted to turn off) using the "Dome Motion Sensor" custom device handler, and I like that these use a CR123A battery, which is fairly easy to buy (on Amazon) and replace. The mounting system is also nice, as it allows you to fine-tune the positions of the sensors and easily take them down and put them back up without any special tools to replace the batteries. Setup has been a breeze with each unit, with no problems pairing with the SmartThings hub through network-wide Z-wave Plus inclusion at the actual installation location (don't seem to need to be within 10 feet of the hub to pair these successfully). The light sensor doesn't seem to be super accurate, but I bought these only because they seemed to be good motion sensors; ideally, I would have preferred motion + temperature + humidity, as available in certain competing motion sensors, but the competitors don't seem to be as good for motion-sensing, so I'm sticking with these. I've eliminated the light reporting from my SmartThings setup by switching these over to the generic "Z-wave motion sensor" device handler after first updating the settings with the "Dome Motion Sensor" custom device handler (you can find this handler linked on the Dome Home Automation website by searching the internet). One gripe is that I'm having trouble using the custom device handler to disable the LED light (or change the other settings, such as reducing the light-reporting interval to increase the battery life) on two of the 17 of these that I have. I've tried everything I can think of, and I just can't figure out why two of the 17 of these have been so much more difficult for me to change the settings through the custom device handler. Might be how these are routing through my Z-wave network, or might be a SmartThings issue, but I tend to think not, as the other ones have worked fine.

This motion sensor knows movement.
Man, this motion sensor is awesome. I'm a little worried about battery life, so that may change things. But as far as speed this thing is fast. I am using it in Home Assistant via Smartthings. Smartthings recognizes as a door sensor which is probably why it is so fast. It is either open if there is motion or closed if there isn't. Most true motion sensors have a delay before they register motion, and have a cool down of 4-5 mins before resetting yo no motion. Not this guy. It picks up motion fast and as soon as it stops it goes back to clear. Perfect for my automation needs as I want to know as soon as there is motion in the garage. When I need more motion sensors I'm getting this guy.

Works like a charm
Works like a charm. I integrated this into Home Assistant without a problem. Advanced parameters are not presently supported by the built-in 'zwave' configuration tool in Hass.io, but they can be easily adjusted by invoking the set_config_parameter service. I'm very happy with this product and will likely buy several more.2018-05-01 edit: advanced parameters are now supported by the built-in 'zwave' configuration tool in Hass.io.

Doesn't work as expected
I have over two dozen Z-Wave Plus devices connected to my Wink Hub 2, and all of them were easy to set-up, configure, and operate...with the exception of the Dome Z-Wave Plus Motion Detector. This motion detector simply doesn't connect correctly to the hub. I cannot get it to detect motion and report it properly to the hub to trigger actions to take place (e.g. something as simple as turning on a light). No other Z-Wave Plus device I have has caused me grief in the way this device has.I actually replaced one, because I figured it must be a DOA unit, but the replacement behaves the same way. It says it's connected to the hub, but it's status is "Unknown" and it never reports it has detected motion. I even set-up Wink Lookout alerts to tell me when ANY motion was detected at all, at any time of day or night. Wink has never alerted me to detected motion.I even reached out to Dome through their online support, and had I guess what you'd call a conversation via email with their "support" personnel. They asked me a lot of questions which had in fact already been answered in the initial inquiry email I sent to them. This is frustrating enough, but the conversation also made no progress, and the support person didn't even seem to understand how their Zendesk system for managing customer support worked. I ended up educating them on it! I was not impressed.I have a fair amount of experience with Z-Wave Plus, Zigbee and WiFi smart home devices, and have had no trouble with products from Leviton, Lutron, Philips, Sengled, August, and more. The only smart home product which has given me grief is this motion detector from Dome. Given I have tried two of them, and neither has worked correctly, I'd strongly suggest someone looking for a motion sensor for their smart home set-up look elsewhere.

Easy installation, reliable detection.
Works like a charm. Very easy to set up. Several useful parameters can be adjusted by user, if allowed by your hub. I use a Hubitat hub by the way (had a wink hub 2 before), and I can easily adjust the minimum change in light intensity necessary for this value to be reported, the time a motion detected signal lasts after the last detection, motion detection sensitivity, etc. I have one in a bathroom that turns on the lights when someone walks in, but only if there is insufficient lighting to start with. Really cool!

Won't update with any configurations changes.
I bought a dome siren and motion sensor. Both were incredible troublesome but it was getting near my return deadline and it seemed like the motion sensor was working so i kept it but gave up on the siren and returned it. Unfortunately, I found that the motion sensor won't update to my vera system and continually shows "failed to update configuration" I have talked to Very support and just can't get anything to work. I basically have a 60 dollar CR123 battery. Live an learn. I should have returned BOTH sensors immediately

Unobtrusive Detection
One of the main reasons I picked this detector was for its aesthetics. It looks like a large golf ball rather than the typical squarish design which I think makes for a more pleasing unobtrusive appearance.Setup could not be easier. It quickly paired with my Vera Plus hub which recognized both the motion sensor and the lux sensor. The base is attached either by screws or double sided tape to the wall or ceiling. You could just set it on a shelf as well. I purchased 3M Velcro command strips and used that for mounting. It does include screws and 3M double sided tape but I like the Velcro option for removal. The sensor itself attaches magnetically to the base. So removing it to change batteries or for what ever reason is to simply pull it off the base. Pointing it is equally easy since it is magnetic, you just slide it wherever you want.In the Vera Plus hub you have the option to turn off the LED which normally flashes when it senses motion. Accordingly, I have turned it off. However, I think that also disables the lux measurement since I have been reading zero since I made the change. I may change it back but I'm not using the lux sensor right now so I haven't worried about it.As far as motion detection goes, it seems to work well. I was having trouble with one device that was pointed towards our dining room window. It went in to a condition where it wouldn't reset. I'm not sure if it was picking up motion outside or what was causing it grief but I moved it to another location in the room and it is working fine now. I don't have any pets so I can't comment on whether pet motion can be excluded. You can adjust its sensitivity in the Vera hub though. All in all, this is meeting my requirements..
