Does what I wanted it to do. The programming is a little confusing so I am not sure how much water I am actually giving my plants. I even ran it in text mode into a measuring cup to see how much water it dispensed. I have only used it twice and at least it kept the plants alive for two weeks. I might have to figure out the programming if we are gone longer.

It works great. Has 10 probes and is simple to put together. I bought this to water the plants I keep on my balcony when I took a week vacation. I placed it on a 5 gallon bucket of water. The plants did great. The only down side is that it takes AAA batteries which don't last very long for large plants with frequent watering (about 2 weeks). I set it up in about 15 minutes. The only tool required was scissors. I arranged the tube to have the larger plants closer to the pump so they receive more water, and smaller plants further away and higher up.Based on my experience with this, I don't recommend using on larger plants that need lots of water for extended periods of time (greater than 2-3 weeks). This is because the system is only capable of watering for up to 99 seconds. The water doesn't come out very fast so larger plants will require more frequent watering. I had to set mine for multiple waterings per day to keep the plants from getting dehydrated. The frequent watering was good while I was on vacation, but after a couple weeks it started to cause fungus to grow and attracted insects that made my plants sick.

Updated review!
Update 7-13-18: after further conversations with the seller, they reconsidered the defect of this product and replaced it with another at no cost. Thank you to the seller for making good on this product. I am hopeful that I will get better performance out of this replacement product.Prior review: This product only worked for 3 months before starting to malfunction. The water would no longer pump through the top but instead would flood out of the bottom of the unit. It seems as though something inside broke but am unable to open the unit to try to repair it as it is sealed closed. Also, the display on top of the unit stopped working. The numbers would only cycle repeatedly in a countdown fashion and would not allow any programming to be set, even after trying several sets of new batteries. I tried working with the seller on these issues to see if they could offer repair or replacement, but they refused to do either. Only three months of usage from a product is very poor quality and itโs disappointing that the seller will not stand behind their product.

Not for big gardens
I unboxed this. Put batteries in, programmed " on" times, which was once per hour for 24 hrs. I wanted to see what was the actual pump rate was.Turns out about 1.5 gal in 24 hrs.....however, there was a red blinking light...." Lo battery"Changed the battery, reprogrammed for one 99 second pump each day.. so far so good. Im on week 2 of battery life. I use a central reservoir, and use a seperate pump for each group of plants. I have one that goes to one large plant by itself.I found out the hard way. The water reservoir must be lower than discharge hose, as it will cause the remaining water in reservoir to siphon itself dry, after the pump shuts down.....So keep discharge slightly level to uphill, check the batteries after about 20 water cycles on/ off.I ordered another one despite being battery operated. I went out of town and needed my houseplants watered while I was away. The unit should come equipped with a 110v wall plug in Battery life stinks.Otherwise works as advertised.

Too complicated
The assumption I'm going to make here is that most people--like me--use this when they're going to head out of town for awhile and need a reliable watering system. As such, you probably aren't going to set the thing up until the night before when you've also got to pack, load up your travel road tunes, and clean out the fridge. In those cases, don't bother with this. The instruction manual is far too complicated to be done in the heat of multi-tasking and pre-travel jitters. Opt for the ol' upside down wine bottle instead. :)

Great for smaller pots with plants but not more than a handful.
This is not the best solution for more than a handful of plants. I have a balcony that I needed to make sure was watered daily so that my mother-in-law didn't have to climb our stairs when we were out of town.I bought a huge water cooler water bottle to put this on top of. That works great! But by the time the water gets to my farthest plant, the timer has shut off and it barely gets any water.I will definitely keep this around to cover maybe a plant or two I have in the front of my house (that I occasionally forget is there), it does work and it will work great for like I said, a smaller number of plants. But for the solution I was looking for, it didn't really work that great.

Inexpensive and functional
I bought 2 of these to water my plants while I was away for a few days. They are extremely easy to set up and include plenty of extra tubing and parts. The instruction manual for setting the watering schedule isn't well written but you can figure it out easily. I connected the 2 irrigation systems to a 5 gallon bucket and when I returned 3 days later there was about 2.5 gallons remaining in the bucket. This led me to surmise the flow rate is approximately 1 gallon/day. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product and I recommend it.

Works well, needs better instructions/interface.
Does exactly what I wanted and expected it to do... that is, automatically water my plants. I wanted something like this to tend my plants while I'm gone on business trips. So far I've had it running for a couple weeks now, watering for 6 seconds every 4 hours. Seems to be working just fine. Only note is that the instructions and interface are not all that clear/intuitive. I'll upgrade this to five stars once I've run it longer to see if it performs well it performs regarding battery life as well.
