Hi Carysm,Because the Canon case is a fitted case, it is designed to fit snuggly around the camera, so would not be able to close with the quick change filter adapter on the camera.Regards Susan of Lensmate

will this fit the g5x?

The G7X is the exact same Kit as the now discontinued Canon G5X kit, it just does not contain the custom install tool.  We designed the install tool for the G5X because the housing was slightly larger, but the G7X quick change filter adapter can still be be hand installed on the G5X just like the G7X without an install tool.

Can you attach a 52mm lens hood to the adapter with the Canon G5Xmarkii?

Yes any 52mm filter or hood can be attached BUT we have tested over 30 different lens hoods and all of them vignette at full wide. That is because either the edge of the hood is too narrow and the camera see it, or the 52mm mount is too thick and the camera see it.

If anyone finds a hood that does not vignette at full wide with a single filter please contact us with a photo and the brand and a link to the product. Thank you.
