SSSS.DYNAZENON - The Complete Season
P**K
Excellent animation and a great plot.
I feel that this series went above and beyond what "SSSS.Gridman" had--the previous series had bizarre and mind-bending twists and turns as it's grip, but overall this one felt a lot more straightforward. This series also felt more like a super sentai animated series, rather than a Gridman/Ultraman-esque feature. So, honestly, if you enjoy giant robot battles and a cast of interesting characters, coupled with superb animation--this is a really great feature to watch. My only VERY SLIGHT disappointment is that there were not as many special features, nor a special collectors' edition, as there had been for "SSSS.Gridman"--even a pack-in of stickers/decals would've been a good collector's item to include. I know Tsubaraya Productions is big on special features, so it was disappointing the domestic licensing company didn't include anything beyond textless openings/closings on this for special features.

Fantastic continuation to the Gridman universe
Series won't disappoint for Gridman fans, continuing on from another significant episode from the original series, which is even directly referenced in the storyline. The Story Finds the Character Gauma recruiting a group of social misfits to fight the Kaiju Eugenicists, who are trying to revive giant monsters in modern times...despite due to the lore of the series, those Kaiju having moved themselves to existing in the cyberspace. To fight them, the Group Form DYNAZENON, a reincarnated Dyna Dragon from the Original Gridman series. With them eventually gaining the Help of Anti (now called Knight) from SSSS Gridman. Studio Trigger Pulled out all the stops for this one. Unfortunately Funimation botched several of the translations, but unlike the Localization failures of the SSSS Gridman series they actually bothered to FIX most of them this time. (in example, in one of the episodes the cast talks about a mummy, Funi's Simulsub/dub for the series accidentally translated the term 'mummy' as "Mirror" due to the Japanese loan words for many things relating to Egyptology being misnomered and most translators not knowing this. In this case said loan word was "miira", based from the preservative "Myrrh" which the first egyptian exhibits provided to japan mistakenly named the whole mummy AS)DISCLAIMER: Despite carrying on storypoints from the original "Gridman the Hyper Agent", said Gridman Bluray from last year was so awfully translated by Mill Creek that you are unlikely to be able to understand the content of the original episodes. It is unlikely that release will ever be fixed, so while this story works on its own and you can dive in without it...much like the previous SSSS Gridman series you will unfortunately be lost regarding some elements of the show. Ask your local tokusatsu fan for anything you might not get.

Gridman and Toku fans rejoice
Gridman fans won't be disappointed. Dynazenon builds upon the world and lore of the previous SSSS series with all the classic fixings of the mecha toku genre.
