Its amazing. We have seven cats, no carpets, a robotic vacuum and a robotic litterbox (much easier to have seven cats with these items in place). And the litterbox had an accessory that we purchased to help contain litter from getting on the floor outside of the litterbox. Unfortunately it wasn't as effective as we had hoped. We had "litterbox mats" and those were OK, but the cat litter mat / trappers are AMAZING. And they look cool. Well worth it. Easy to clean, very effective. I accidentally walked across it barefoot the other night and didn't have cat litter stuck to my feet (I know, gross, but it was dark...).

I've spoken with our cats multiple times about tracking their litter outside of their pan to no avail. They insist that using a broom and dustpan require an opposable thumb. I'm not so sure because they spend a lot of time laying around being lazy. So, I purchased this mat and it traps litter and is easy to clean. I would absolutely recommend it to friends and family with similarly obstinate feline housemates.

WE have a household of 4 cats and 5 litter boxes which are cleaned daily. One of the feline members of the family is a particularly enthusiastic digger and the litter gets everywhere. This is the first mat that really WORKS! The mat is two layers, the top layer has holes through which the litter particles fall. You can actually walk on this mat barefoot without hurting your feet!. It is easy to lift the upper layer, and either lift the mat and deposit the litter back in the box, or sweep it into a pile and use a dustpan. We had previously used the mats that look like thin plastic spaghetti all twirled around, and while those DO catch litter, good luck with getting the litter OUT of them. It is very difficult to shake it out, and being a clumping litter user, I once made the mistake of taking the mats outside and attempting to hose them down. DON'T DO IT!! That just causes the litter to absorb water and clump and you will never never never get rid of it. You can actually wash these mats if need be! I HIGHLY recommend them. Don't be discouraged by the price, they are worth it. I just wish they came in more sizes!

I originally was using a foamy shelf liner that functioned similarly, trapping litter in the little honeycomb patterns. However, the little "holes" were so tiny, they filled up after just a couple uses. I have three cats in an apartment, so I needed something not only more heavy duty, but also a lot less porous.Fast forward to receiving this product: I'm so happy I chose this. The honeycomb design is reasonably deep, which means I can go much longer between hand-vac sessions. The material is much less porous, which means cleaning is a lot more effective and drying is much quicker.By the way- Did I mention I have some sort of veneer wood type flooring? Yyyeah. So moisture is not well tolerated. Enter the second layer of this product: SLIGHTLY cushiony, but a well-coated material that stops small, ehm, "splashes"? I can't speak on whether it'll hold up to actual puddles of urine left for periods of time but I'm guessing it wouldn't last long given the ammonia in urine.I would highly recommend this product. I just ordered my second one to lay next to the first. It's great at catching litter, but because of how litter sticks to the creases in cat paws, it does tend to still track a tiny bit a couple feet out. Thankfully this product is affordably priced at $30. Images are after 2 days of use by 3 cats without vacuuming. Previously I was vacuuming about twice a day. Now I only have to vacuum once every couple of days.

Strange how something this innocuous can be so wonderful, but it does what the blurb says and catches almost all of the litter, which then drops out of sight until you vacuum it up. Large size works well with a large box, and if you have multiple boxes the two pack is a great deal. Rarely write reviews, but this is a great product;

This product is not urine proof nor odor resistant as advertised. The first time a cat peed on it the urine soaked in and then went straight through to the floor. Even after heavy washing it retained the smell. The mat then became a pee magnet for the cats and every time the urine went right into the mat then down underneath to the floor. This led to delayed detection of the urine because it all stayed right with under mat. Also, the top litter catcher is only attached at one point so it is nearly impossible to dump without spilling everywhere. Threw it out and will never purchase again.

I love this litter matt...I have three cats so there is always litter around the edges of my litter boxes and there is always the small amount of litter on my kitties paws that gets tracked all through the house Until I got this litter trapper...now there is not one speck of litter on my floors it all gets trapped in the little holes in the litter trapper.The Litter Trapper has Exceeded my expectations what a brilliant idea ! My cats love them so much that they lay on them so I just might get one more just so my cats could lay on it maybe I will put one at my back door to keep from tracking dirt into the houseI would also like to add that the shipping was very fast and the matts came in a large enough box so that the matts were not curled or folded so they lay flat on the groundThank you "Smiling Paws Pets" for an excellent product and excellent service.I would like to add that I did not receive any discount or free products, my review is 100% honestnormally I do not write reviews on Amazon but I am so pleased with this product I just had to write a review

this did not repel odor. My cat missed the box and i have tried everything to clean it. Some of the urine absorbed in and I was not able to get the smell out so had to toss it. Its not plastic, its material and is NOT waterproof as advertised. Dont waste your money. Over priced for the quality. if you are looking for a mat to just catch the litter it did work pretty well for that for the most part but if your cat ever misses the box this will hold the odor!
