Excellently made, but long and heavy.
OK, let me start off by saying I love these. They aren't for everybody or every purpose, however. The Good:1. They don't rattle or jiggle. Once locked in place, they stay put and don't rattle. That was my biggest worry and it turned out to be a non issue.2. They are steel. This means that the threads are super strong, but it also means that they are very heavy.3. They are long. This makes it much easier to grab onto with a full fist to unscrew the base. The top has a six sided pin, so it can be easily unscrewed with a wrench if needed.4. The fit and finish is beautiful, like a fine piece of equipment.5. The price is right for the quality. The Caveats:1. I was hoping to use these on the end of a boom pole. Because they are steel, they are heavy. It adds a significant amount of weight to the wrong end of a boom pole, making it actually rather unworkable as a quick release for my boom pole.2. They are long. It adds quite a bit of length to any operation.I'll probably be buying more since I like them so much, but I would like to see them lightened up by perhaps having a lightweight titanium or aluminum version with some extra machining to lose some of the mass. I've tried a number of different mic quick releases and found these to be a good balance between price and execution.

Built like a rocket
This thing is absolutely amazing.. its well build with a very clean and slick designQuick disconnect is very useful and there is no wiggle what so everVERY VERY USEFUL when you are using a mic like the Shure 55 Classic as the screw mounton the microphone have always interfered with the xlr cable connector with any swing arm youuse... so this fixes the problem by extending and giving you the opportunity to use the quick connectwhen any adjustments are needed.

Quick tip to keep yours working as desired:
These are great. Everything you read about them is true. Now, you might notice after some time that they are hard to lock in place, like you need to apply a good amount of force to get the pieces to click together. Here's a tip: grab a rubber hammer and hammer the top of the socket once or twice. I'm talking about the part that goes on the mic stand. Use some strength, don't be afraid. Seems like things want to slide loose after many uses, and a rubber hammer will make them work as brand new. We've been using these at my job for about two years now. I got rid of all of the Atlas and cheaper clips and equipped all stands (probably about 60 total) and all mic clips (easily over 100) and have never looked back.

GET THIS!!
Sturdy & sleek, this has all the benefits I could ever want to quick-change mics. The hex design in the shaft also allows the mic (or boom) not to “spin” in the receiver - which is SUCH a great idea!

100% recomendable.

GREAT TOOL, BUT CAN'T BE USED WITH THE SHURE SUPER 55 OR 55SH
This is a well designed and well made product by Gator. It's all metal, and looks like it would hold up to the rigors of gigging and studio use. I like the idea that the insert is hexagonal vs. round, so that when a mic is "installed," it won't spin.Unfortunately, this is yet another product that can't be used with the Shure Super 55 (or 55 SH) mic, due to the design of the mic and how the XLR plugs in. The XLR plug is so close to the stand mount threading on the mic, that if this product is used, the XLR cable can't be plugged in. Bummer, as the Super 55 is my workhorse and "signature" mic for my sound company...

Very well built.
I just got them today and right out of the package they don’t feel cheap. I will be using them to quickly attach sennheiser antennas to mic stands. I will report back after some use.

A Game-Changer for Frequent Mic Swappers!
I recently purchased this quick-release microphone adapter set, and it has truly been a game-changer for my recording sessions. If you, like me, find yourself constantly swapping mics during your work, you'll understand the hassle it usually involves. But with this system, the ease of quick release and attachment is simply superb. One of the standout features that I absolutely love is the visual red collar. It's such a simple yet effective idea! This little addition acts as a clear indicator, letting you know if the mic isn't properly secured. This means no more embarrassing moments of the mic dropping or recording issues due to it not being fitted correctly. The build quality of these adapters is impressive, too. They feel robust and reliable, something I value especially when dealing with delicate and often expensive microphone equipment. It's clear that the designers put thought into both functionality and durability.Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It's not just a time-saver; it's a frustration-saver. No more fumbling with threads or worrying about cross-threading your expensive mics. If you're in the world of audio, do yourself a favor and make this small investment. It might seem like a minor addition to your setup, but the convenience it brings is worth every penny.
