Bandai Hobby Sword Impulse Gundam, Bandai Master Grade Action Figure

Hi,The mg sword impulse is very impressive. This is my first master grade kit and I will definitely be getting more in the future. Even though it is a mg it was not as hard to build as i expected. The build was fun and the final product is impressive. Now for the pros and cons.Pros-nice beam effect parts for the flash edge (beam boomerang things) and the Excalibur swords.-stiff joints-good assortment of accessories (1 beam rifle, 2 flash edges, 2 Excalibur, 2 dagger and the big boomerang and shield)-Its hard to know what to say there is just so muchcons-stiff joint-the joints are still witch is real nice but it feels like I might break something trying to repose it. (be careful thats all)-just a nitpick but I wish the ankles were more articulated. They don't have much side to side movement.-It looks like the shield can have a beam shield effect part put on it but it does not come with one.After all is said and done I would definitely recommend this model to any one who is in to gunpla and wants a master grade. I am very grad that I picked this model kit.

Those who know me know that I'm no fan of Gundam Seed Destiny, the rather terrible sequel to the hit show Gundam Seed. From every aspect including plot, characters and even MS design GSD seemed to be worse in nearly every way. This is however not a review of the series so I'll move onto the MS design. GSD does many questionable things like recycle UC Zion MS desings as the 'upgrades' to the older ZAFT suits (ok) and then when it comes to the Gundams, they took the idea of overdone backpack designs and turn it up to 11 here, and not in a good way. Among the 'hero' MS, the Destiny itself was a poor design, Strike Freedom is just a fanwank ripoff of the Freedom, a much better design IMHO and Infinite Justice which looks exactly the same as the original Justice...The one shining design in this rather poor show turned out to be the melee version of the first title suit, the Sword Impulse Gundam. With it's non traditional sports car red color scheme and rather imposing anti-ship swords (ASSes) this has to be one of my favorite designs in the Seed universe, and they capture the design very well in the MG kit, which was one of my favorite builds this year.The kit comes in the large MG sized box and not only includes parts for the MS, but the backpack accessory weapons/jets including the core fighter and Sword flier unmanned craft. Details on the inner frame and outer armor plates are nicely done and the kit is designed to transform into it's component parts (which was frankly a dumb design) but one cool gimmick is you can remove the core fighter to have it on display as well as the sword flier...and the kit comes with a fighter dummy plug to fill the empty space inside including an adapter back plate making it compatible with other weapons packs from different Seed MG kits including the Strike Noir and Freedom.Articulation is very nice as you're able to position the kit in some of the craziest poses making show accurate dioramas but be warned some of the joints are a bit tight at first so you might be concerned about breaking joints when you pose your newly built kit.Parts are molded in color matched plastic and it comes with a set of stickers and dry rubon decals which are a pain to apply, but look so good compared to stickers or even waterslides.

I was able to find an online source for the manual so the instructions not being included was less of an issue than it could have been but I do like having a physical copy regardless. Otherwise no complaints, and this is certainly the most advanced MG kit I've made.

it took the seller a while to process the order, but once it's shipped, it came quickly. I love impulse gundam, this is the 2nd gundam model I ever built, enjoy the whole process, good quality and I love the 2 swords! It doesn't come with a stand tho, be sure to buy one when you order this..

I love to build gunpla they look so cool but this one is my favorite and many more to find

I am fairly new to building gundam model kits, and this is the fourth model kit I've built. I had to learn about grades and it was suggested to me to buy the scale 1/144, Real Grade, to High Grade as a beginner so that I could learn what it takes to build a gundam. Then once you feel up for the challenge, buy either Master Grade to Perfect Grade Gundams to build. I first bought a small 1/144 gundam, built it, moved onto High-Grade, and finally Master Grade. Now I prefer to buy only Master Grade. I have to get High Grade for some models because there is no Master Grade. I also strongly suggest going to youtube and watching how other gundam builders remove the nibs, apply the dry decals, stickers, and use fine point markers to detail panels. This was very helpful to me.I must say that this kit is a beautiful model that closely follows the design of the actual gundam in the show Gundam Seed Destiny! I was very, very pleased with it. I was disappointed in other High-Grade kits because I ended up having to do more paint to get the details to make the gundam resemble the original design from the show. The exception with this kit is the Core Splendor. Parts of it do require painting and you have to paint the 3 tiny figures included. Now why can't they just paint these things for us? It took me 2 days to assemble everything, and you have to be careful when putting the pieces together as using too much force can easily break something. I actually broke a peg on the shield because I pushed in too hard, but luckily it has 3 more pegs so it was no big deal connecting the other parts. You will have to buy an action base to pose the gundam on for display. Too bad those are not included with this. Once you get everything assembled you can have the 4 parts that build the Sword Impulse Gundam. This kit features landing gear for the 4 different parts, something that was not shown in the anime. This kit also includes a small base for the drone plane that carries the swords! I bought and assembled 4 action bases, of the same type, took their main posts, and put 4 of them together on one action base so that I could pose the 4 parts together. It looks awesome! Now weight can be an issue when you do this, so be sure to place the action base in such a way that it's protected if something falls. Next, I combined the 4 parts into the gundam, and after getting the sword in his hands I was overjoyed! All the little things I didn't like were forgiven. Once you combine the swords they are longer than the box it comes in. This gundam will make a gorgeous addition to your collection!

A complete surprise! This model is really detailed, I mean, way beyond the basics. It's three transformable forms, the extra weapons, it's a 'must buy!' From a gunpla guy, this model is a must for your collection!
