🌟 Dive into Science Fun!
The Drinking Bird is a classic educational tool that visually demonstrates the principles of evaporation and condensation, making it an ideal addition to any science lesson. This 2-pack allows for collaborative learning, ensuring that students can engage with the science behind this fascinating phenomenon together.

Novel and Functional!
Got it as a sort of funny gift for my wife and I, saying we needed a drinking bird to keep our work computers active when we have a break or lunch to keep from having to log back int. Made of glass, metal, and plastic, the drinking birds do their thing like clockwork! A tumbler sized glass worked best, filled almost to the top. Moved down the metal collar for initial balance, then held the beak in the water for a few seconds. Now they're both bobbing, "taking a drink" after every 4th or so bob. As other reviewers mentioned, the colour of the liquid in the bird seems random. Otherwise the colours are as pictured. Fun times, neat little piece of fluid dynamics engineering.

Arrived intact. Traditional design. Functional.
Enjoyed the Famous Lucky Drinking Birds. They work right out of the box. Fun science toy for desktop and easy conversation starter. Fascinating retro style. These items are fragile however, care must be taken to not drop them. Enjoyed them enough to order a larger 6 pack just earlier today to give away as gifts. Good Luck

I had one as a kid
Classic drinking bird--This pair showed up in two different colors--red or green. They drink like a duck and clink like a duck-but they're birds of a different feather. My only concern is that, according to the box label, they contain methylene chloride as the magic fluid, which is non-flammable, but has been banned by the EPA for use in paint strippers due to its toxicity. (When I was a kid, my father had to sign his life away because that version contained highly flammable ether!). So be careful--don't allow kids to break the bird.

Roll the dice?
Color of the fluid is apparently random. One of the birds refused to bob, and seller HNDTEK was outstanding, they just asked where the end the replacements to. They arrived just a few days and they've been bobbing merrily ever since. Thank you, HNDTEK. Three months later, I'm knocking it down to 4 stars. First, because of the dye. The blue and purple both turned yellow within two months (hard sunlight but only for a few hours per day) and the red has become a pale pink. They will all be pale yellow soon. Second, because you've really got to work to keep them bobbing. If you search online, you'll find that the 'water' needs to be dosed with vinegar to slow down the growth of bioslime, and the bird heads washed from time to time to get rid of anything growing on them. Not incredibly difficult, but the birds will require some routine maintenance.

SO MUCH FUN!
My Dad brought home a pair of these 50+ years ago! I enjoyed them then, and I think even more now, especially when watching my grandkids watch them. The old ones were painted an opaque mustard yellow so you couldn't see what was going on inside. I think these clear ones are much better, and might even get your kids interested in Physics!

They're ok. 1 quit.
The birds are smaller and more cheaply built than they seem.Edit: Here we are 3 weeks later, and one of the birds has stopped drinking completely. The other bird still works. They are drinking from the same cup of water too.

A blast from childhood.
What can I say? This was just one of those fun things that I remember from my childhood, which I had to have. It is just a fun conversation piece and it works like I remembered it as a kid. I bought a second one for my son, which he hasn't used it.It works well and is entertaining for me.
