Street Corner Talking / Hellbound Train

I Highly Recommend this CD. It is Worth the Wait.
Do you remember when an album had only 25 - 40 minutes of playing time but every song was good? This is a CD with two albums on it. All the songs are good or better. The CD comes in a standard, clear jewel case (not the slim ones which make it hard to find in a CD library) and then a cardboard sleeve that has the same graphics as the CD slips over the jewel case for protection. I like it and I will keep it on the case. It arrived with an unbroken jewel case. This ships from the UK and it took 13 days to arrive here. Both of the albums are very good: well-written, great rock/blues, and it has very good sound quality. You will get a heavy dose of the keyboards by Paul Raymonds on both these albums. This is a departure from the album Savoy Brown released the year prior to "Street Corner Talking" titled "Looking In", which is my favorite Savoy Brown album. I was disappointed that the song, Hellbound Train, the last song on the second album and the last song on the CD, just stops abruptly instead of fading away. I deducted half a point for that but added half a point to the packaging for this review. Overall, I highly recommend this CD. Five stars!

A nice package from this era of Savoy Brown
These two Savoy Brown albums are among my favorites from the band Kim Simmonds lead (and still does lead )when Dave Walker was the vocalist. He was a good successor to Chris Youlden, who was the best vocalist of the early years of the band.

Great Album
The album is very good and has two of Savoy Brown's best albums. The only thing disappointing, is there was not enough room for the last song "Hellbound Train" so it stops abruptly with out fading out, trivial but annoying.

Hellbound Train ends abrubtly as it does on original release.
The fade out made me crazy. So if your looking for Train as it was originally presented, this is for you. Saw them with Fleetwood Mac & Long John Baldry in early 70s.

Great Two-fer, claps for BGO label! Keep rockin'!
I strongly recommend this Item: Well remastered, good sound, clear, not so loud or overproduced, good clarity.Savoy Brand is one of those Bands that were underestimated in their time, but thanks to these reissues, music lovers can discover how great they were(and still are in some cases, when they keep recording and/or touring). As I stated in my title, kudos to that great label, BGO Records. Thanks guys, you are really doing a great, outstanding job. This from a dedicated audiophile. I'm planning to get other Savoy Brown Two-fers.

Mixtape
Excellent collection of tracks. However would have been better if "Hellbound Train" was not cut short by at least a couple of minutes in order to squeeze all the tracks onto the disc. Rather like a badly done mixtape from back in the day

Early 70s Savoy Brown
Consistent effort from Savoy Brown ,the opening track"Tell Mama" is the standout track on "Street Corner Talking".Hellbound train is a more rocking follow up that was to be their most successful album in the States.

Ottimo
Questo doppio cd è meraviglioso. Peccato che l'ultimo brano del 2°cd sul finale viene chiuso senza un finale, questo non si capisce perché hanno fatto questo sulla masterizzazione. Bo!!!
