Brannan Frothy Milk Thermometer for Steaming Milk with 125 mm Stainless Steel Probe and Clip Barista Coffee Great for Frothing

Bought this to replace a previously hard to read and eventually broken thermometer. My wife uses this every day for frothing her milk drinks and it works great.

This thermometer has a nice large face, is easy to calibrate and comes with a pot clip so I don't have to stand and hold it. Great buy and love the price.

I had previously attempted to froth milk without a thermometer and had mediocre success. I wasn't able to tell what the temperature of the milk and foam was. I was just judging based on the time and appearance of the foam and was constantly overheating the milk but was not aware that I was overheating. I bought this thermometer and the on the first steam I saw improvement. I then realized how badly I was overheating the milk. The little metal bracket is essential as it clip to the side of the pitcher. I can place the thermometer on the rim of the pitcher and adjust the height so the tip is just off the bottom of the pitcher.TL;DR..I was overheating my milk and didn't know it. A thermometer makes for quicker and more consistent steamed milk.

It's lasted for 6 months so far. Easy to read and accurate.

Works great, adjusted clip so it worked with my electric kettle, but no problems.

Great to use with a froth pitcher when making milk for coffee. It's very easy to use and clip on, allows to move around the pitcher when frothing. The temperature is accurate as well.

It is accurate and has an easy to read dial.

If you calibrate it using an ice test it's 10-15F off by the time you reach boiling. I currently calibrated it to 140 (vs a Thermopen ONE) and its several degrees off around room temp now.I guess this is what a $10 thermometer gets you. The other bad thing is the packaging. It’s not sufficient to keep the dial from getting beat.

What can I say, it's a thermometer... good construction and appears to be calibrated accurately enough.I use it in my milk jug when steaming milk for my latte's etc. It has a clip on one side that allows it to be held in place on the wall of the steaming jug. The probe reaches all the way to the bottom of the jug and sits there out of the way while in use. I found that if I turn the steam off around 75 (mid green range) I get a nice temperature to the milk all the time.Would recommend this to those that want to get consistent temperature in their milk and especially to those that don't like using the "judge by the temperature on the hand method" when holding a stainless steel jug.
