A great introduction to a new series
The Wishing Tree is book one in The Wishing Tree series by various authors. In Linden Falls, Vermont is that picturesque, idyllic small town. Within the charming street of a community of people who care about each other and in the center of town is the famous Wishing Tree. It is an old beautiful tree with wishes tied to the branches. From simple wishes and dreams to heartbreaking and devastating hopes. As tourists flock to town and join the locals to hang ribbons to the branches of the tree. Some believe in the magic of the Wishing Tree while others believe it is the hooky gimmick to bring in tourists. If it’s magic or not, there have been beautiful stories of love, forgiveness and happily ever after that brings people to the tree and taking a chance to hang a wish.Book one of The Wishing Tree series is an introduction to the rest of the series. With a wonderful prologue which introduces Neva Cabot, one of the oldest residents and leads into a brief introduction to the first six books of the series. I read a lot of reviews that were upset that this book is not a full novel itself. However, I enjoyed the brief introduction into the premise of the series and the first six books. As an added bonus, this book is a free eBook that if you are interested in the series, this is a great way to give a highlight of what to expect and the feel for the series. I have the next six books in the series and will be reviewing them soon. If you are curious about Linden Falls and their Wishing Tree, I recommend checking out The Wishing Tree. The Wishing Tree is available in paperback and eBook

The Wishing Tree
These short novellas begin to tell a story about several people who live in the small town of Linden Falls, VT. Each novella is written by one of a very good group of authors as each take on writing about a person or family living there. I found each story interesting in giving me an idea of the characters & situations each person/family was involved in. I’m looking forward to reading more & I’ve already ordered the next book up from this series by these authors. A delightful read!

It has potential if it weren't for the abundant wordiness, poor character interactions, and pacing.
I’ve read all introductions. In my opinion, all of them have some common annoyances. For the sake of brevity, I focus my critique on the last introduction to Book 6, Careful What You Wish. When I read this particular introduction, my initial impression was that it tries to combine domestic routine with the drama of infidelity. The premise is inherently interesting, given the emotional stakes and the potential for tension between the characters. Nonetheless, I found several areas where it could be improved to enhance readability and engagement.Firstly, the writing is too wordy. Sentences are lengthy and often packed with details that could be streamlined for clarity and impact. For example, the line Mary takes her bucket of cleaning supplies upstairs and spends the morning changing bed linens and scrubbing bathrooms could be more succinctly conveyed. Simplifying the language would help maintain my interest and improve the overall flow. The narrative occasionally shifts perspectives and focuses, which disorients me. At times, it is unclear to me who the central character is - Mary or Daisy - and I would integrate the back-and-forth between their perspectives more seamlessly. Consistent point of view would provide a stronger, more cohesive narrative.Dialogue is another area I would improve. Some lines, such as Daisy's excited chatter about a spy mission, feel unrealistic to me and undermine the seriousness of the situation. Additionally, the dialogue tags are often accompanied by unnecessary actions or descriptions. For instance, I would omit Mary shakes her head or Daisy jumps to her feet or I would simplify to keep the focus on the conversation's content.Character development also needs attention. Daisy's sudden shift from administrative tasks to engaging in a spy mission feels abrupt and underdeveloped to me. I suggest a smoother progression when it comes to the transition from her being a seemingly superficial character to one who shows genuine concern for Mary.I can tell the target audience appears to be readers who enjoy domestic dramas and narratives centered around personal relationships and betrayal. To better serve this audience, I would set the focus of the story on deepening the emotional aspects of Mary's discovery and the dynamics between her and Daisy. More internal reflection from Mary about her feelings and less focus on mundane tasks would enhance emotional engagement.Lastly, the plot's pacing can be improved. I hate the sudden jumps from one scene to another without adequate build-up or resolution. Allow more time to explore Mary's internal conflict and her interactions with Daisy! That would create a more compelling and immersive experience. The introduction I critiqued and all others suffer from wordiness, do not focus enough in its perspective, poor character interactions and pacing. Again, I find the language has to be simplified and the emotional content deepened. I'm convinced it would make it more relatable and impactful. I’m so sad because I think the writings have the potential be quite engaging.

Great introduction to the series.
I think this book is a great introduction to the series. I would have been disappointed if I paid for the book, but since I got the e-book free and the paperback was sent to me as winner of a giveaway, I am very happy I read it. The books tells an introduction to each story in the Wishing Tree series. I enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the other books in the series.

Inspirational Collection by multiple authors
This is an inspirational collection of stories by multiple authors. Each novella centers around the town's linden tree located in the middle of the town square. Everyone calls it The Wishing Tree. Can the magic of the tree truly grant wishes? There are those that swear it can and some who feel they are not as lucky. Maybe it just wasn't the perfect time for their wish to be granted. There is still hope for the future. I have already pre-ordered several of the books because I was so caught up the stories that I just have to know how they end. The difficult part will be to wait until they are automatically delivered to my Kindle. Sigh!

The Wishing Tree
This is a great prequel to the multi author series. It centers around a giant linden tree in the town square in Americana Vermont where wishes are left. It has small town charm with a wonderful cast of characters and businesses that meander through each story. Neva is central to it all as the elderly woman running the Wishing Tree Inn and being the keeper of wishes. Once you visit this town you want to return again and again or even move into one of the stately old homes just off the square.

A complete delight
What a complete delight, and at the same time so frustrating. It's like someone have you a tiny sip of your favourite drink, or a small forkful of a delicious meal, and made you wait for the rest! The Wishing Tree series brings together some of the best contemporary writers. This, the first book, is just a taster for the remaining books in the series, and to whet your appetite for those to come - and it succeeds admirably. The series is set around a village in Nevada called Linden Falls, and at the heart of the village is a beautiful old Linden Tree which has become known as The Wishing Tree. People come from far and wide, to join locals in tying their wishes to its lower branches. However the tree, and it's custodian Neva, seem to know the very best way to deliver the wishes. Neva and the tree are the common theme throughout the series, although I believe other residents and shops pop up in various stories too - like the bookshop in the village. Each chapter is a precursor to a different book in the series.I have had the great privilege of reading book 2 by the fabulous Amanda Prowse, and I can tell you that we are in for a real treat. I can't wait to read the rest.

Pura magia y encanto

Unusual, but left me wanting and puzzled.
This was not my idea on how to read a book, or get to know an author. The stories were all very short and not really intriguing enough to entice me to the next book. It was more like reading long blurbs on the back of a bunch of books, and I think by the time I get to the next book in the Series, I would have forgotten what happened in the first one.
