Handmade crochet jute rug, in the popular pineapple pattern. It's roughly round, shaped like a flower, or a cluster of fans, depending how you look at it. I've also seen these types of rugs described as doily or mandala rugs, and this would be wonderful for Indian decor. It's about 40" across at the widest point. This would make a wonderful statement in any room, and is sure to draw admiring compliments. Care and Feeding: Your handmade throw rug can be placed indoors or outdoors, and makes a lovely porch accent. Simply hose off for cleaning, reshape, and allow to air dry. Do not hang. Take care of it and you will have a beautiful and unique rug for a very long time. Do not machine wash or dry. If your new rug is destined for a smooth floor in a traffic area, you may wish to place a nonskid pad under it. This is a natural fiber, and it will move around. About Jute: Jute is a strong natural fiber, the same material used to make burlap cloth. Unlike cotton, jute does not require heavy pesticides or fertilizing. It also flourishes nicely on natural rainfall. It is completely sustainable, growing in only 4-6 months. The inner core of the plant can even replace most of the world's wood needs, greatly reducing reliability on rainforests for wood. It is by far the most environmentally friendly fiber, and is 100% biodegradable, recyclable, and hypoallergenic. This was made with loving intent, and I hope you and your family will enjoy using and displaying it as much as I enjoyed making it for you. :-)
