Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Activated Charcoal Bar Soap 7 Ounce (Pack of 3)

I decided to try this soap after trying and loving the Yes To Tomatoes Blemish Clearing Facial Towelettes, 25 Count (I still use those at the end of the day when I'm too tired to wash my face and want to remove my makeup). They're fantastic and I recommend them also.I'd never tried activated charcoal soap before (and there are tons of options here on Amazon) but I had tried this, Marineland PA0372 Black Diamond Activated Carbon, 22-Ounce, 624-Gram for teeth cleaning and whitening. If you haven't tried it or heard of it, I highly recommend it! (If you Google 'activated charcoal for teeth whitening', the first link that comes up leads to a video showing why and how to do it.)So I knew activated charcoal is an excellent purifier and detoxification tool but I wasn't sure about using it on my face. I was a beauty consultant for over ten years so I've tried more cleansers/ brands than most. Being that I've loved everything I've used with carbon/ charcoal, I figured I'd give it a go.This soap is a win for me and my skin! It leaves me feeling super clean but not dry or itchy. It calms the areas of my skin that have more redness than I'd like to see and it feels wonderful! It's not super foamy or creamy but a little bit of both, if that makes sense.I can use it to remove eye makeup without causing irritation to my sensitive eyes. Surprisingly, it smells wonderful but doesn't irritate my sensitive skin (most products with fragrance have a tendency to make me itch).I will warn that if you don't have a good dish handy and keep it on the plastic wrapper (like I did when I first got it), the color on the wrapper bleeds red ink when it gets wet, lol.I feel that the 7 oz bar is a good value for under $8 because it's 98% natural and you do generally get what you pay for (the cheap stuff isn't usually the best for you). It's a big bar that, like anything else, will last for a long time as long as you keep it away from spraying water and in a dish that drains well.For reference, my skin is combination oily. Usually oily in my T-zone (forhead, nose, chin) and normal on my cheeks. During the summer months I'm typically more oily. I have mild adult acne around my chin (hormonal area) only around my cycle but rarely since using the products I mention in this review.This product is paraben free and I can't tell you how important that is, especially if you have any hormonal acne issues! I used to have pretty bad acne and I didn't understand it because I didn't smoke and I ate super healthy, slept well, and stayed hydrated...It wasn't until I learned about parabens and went completely paraben free (face care, hair care, deodorant, body products, hand wash, and makeup) that I cleared up! I made the switch because breast cancer is on both sides of my family and parabens are found in tumors.If you're unfamiliar with them, they're usually towards the end of ingredient lists, like: methylparaben, propylparaben, etc. They are preservatives that make products have a longer shelf life, like 7 or more years, great for manufacturers but not for me because they are also hormone disruptors!They're actually illegal in many other countries but unfortunately are not yet here in the US. Many manufacturers are finally getting with it and removing them; thank goodness! Off my soapbox, lol.My favorite way to use this soap is with my Konjac facial sponge and since trying it, this is better than anything else I've felt on my face for cleansing, The PUREST Konjac Sponge (Green Tea) - 100% Natural & Chemical Free - Deep Cleansing & Exfoliating Facial Sponges (I went with the green tea one but there are other options and you can find my review with photos on the product page if you like). I lather the soap onto it and it adds gentle exfoliation to the mix and feels amazing (in my opinion)!Another last product I'll mention that I'd recommend; this uses charcoal as an air freshener and I find it really effective, DampRid FG69LV Odor Genie, Lavender Vanilla (you can find my review with photos on the product page there as well).Needless to say, I highly recommend this product! I have acne prone skin and decided to try charcole soap becuse I broke out really bad on my face.The soap did dry out my face so I use it every 3 days and use the YesTo Tomatos® Acne spot treatment and lotion after I wash my face.I'm used to use Nuetrogena® Naturals , which worked well for me. Nuetrogena created this line which is paraban free and not tested on animals. I transitioned from the original Nuetrogena (which worked GREAT) but it was tested on animals.I decided to switch to YesTo® because everything they sell is cruelty free (not tested in animals) and is free from parabans.The charcoal bar is HUGE and will last a long time.Light fresh scentDoesn't stain wash cloth or towels. I use a white wash cloth for my face and the charcoal hasn't stained or colored the wash cloth.Arrived in 3 days via Amazon prime

I've been using this soap, and local stores stopped carrying it. After many disappointments I've gone back to this brand. Great to step out of the shower with out feeling like my skin is going to crack or an oil slick. Very very balanced. Brightens (not lightens) the skin as well, and really helps in controlling acne. You just feel exceptionally clean after your shower. Never thought I'd be recommending a bar show, but here I am.

It is mild but cleans my face well. I have bought this soap several times and will continue to do so.

This bar of soap is extremely effective. I don’t get blemishes too often but when I do this is my go to soap. I use it on a daily basis and it lasts for about six months which is a phenomenal bargain. My skin feels fresh and clean after just one wash.

I bought this soap as it was cheaper but had similar ingredients to the A Wild Soap Bar Black Willow Bark Natural Soap for Acne. This soap works well with keep acne at bay. It does have the activated charcoal as part of the acne fighting property. The soap lathers up great, and it is much larger than the Wild Soap Bar. It is a better deal all around. My only complaint about this soap is the smell is a bit perfumy. It is also slightly girly smelling. My partner still uses it, but he and I don't love the smell. The Wild Soap Bar has many essential oil smells but overall are more neutral, but still smells great.Overall, I will be sticking with this bar as it does a great job with cleaning and keeping acne at bay. It isn't very drying or anything, which is great for dryer skin like I have. The only negative is not a lovely scent.

I am so thankful this is still avail on amazon. I fell in love with this years ago and then they abruptly weren't in stores anymore. I've now been getting it off amazon for years.

Wife loves the way it foams up. Scent is pleasant but not overpowering. Tingles on her face, which makes her think it’s cleaning out her pores well. The bar itself is very heavy and dense, and lasts for a very long time if you keep it dry when mot in use. This is her favorite of all the black soaps and charcoal soaps, and she’s tried them all. (For skin type, she’s a white woman with fair skin.) Hope this helps.
