Leatherman - Wingman Multi-Tool, Stainless Steel with Nylon Sheath

This is the best price point for a multitool in my opinion. Yeah you can spend a lot more on other multitools and get extra little gadgets, but this has all the essentials for a great price point. I've actually bought 3 more of these as gifts for friends. A good multi tool needs pliers (and these are spring loaded), a knife, flat head screwdriver, phillips head screwdriver, a can opener, and spring loaded scissors. This has all of these and a couple extra things. You can take anything apart and put most things back together. Extremely handy and I almost always have it with me.

I’ve owned a few of the higher end Leatherman’s and I’m pretty disappointed in the fit and finish of this model. The pocket clip is loose and the overall feel of it feels cheaply made. The spring loaded pliers are a nice feature, but that too feels cheap. I got it for an emergency bag, so hopefully it won’t see a lot of use, because I don’t think it would take it. I recently got the Rebar and for $30 more (approx) it feels much more heavy duty and still has a small form factor. Unfortunately, the Rebar does not have a pocket clip, but I ordered the R.A.E sheath for it on Etsy.

I bought this to replace one that I got for Christmas and somehow lost in less than a month (which has since been found). I haven't gotten a chance to really put it to the test on anything yet besides a few screws. I'm not sure if it is because of a different manufacturing location or what, but this one is a lot less smooth than my other. The pliers do not spring back open after closing, which is a minor annoyance. The scissors are also a bit difficult to open, requiring a pretty decent amount of force in order to lock at the "out" position. I might be able to lube it for a bit smoother action but I CBA at the moment. That being said, everything is pretty much as advertised. It feels sturdy and should last a long time. I'm storing it in my car long term. I really like the nylon sheath, which seems a bit like a one-size-fits-all but works just fine. At the time of my purchase, the sheath didn't add anything to the cost, so no reason not to pick it up if it's still that way.

I've had many Leathermans over the years, from the Micra to the Charge TTI, and in my opinion the Wingman is the best value of them all. It's a little heavy for EDC, but the pocket clip is sturdy and we'll designed, making carry pretty easy. I daily carry a Micra, but for not all that much more money, for heavier duty work, the Wingman is just about perfect. This is a great go-to for graduation, birthday, or whatever, presents. This is a gift the recipient will definitely use and be thankful for.

I have various multi tools by Leatherman, and Gerber and IMHO, the Wingman is the best bang for the buck multi tool out there. I have the Wave.....a great tool but a lot more $$. I especially like the design of the spring loaded pliers. This model feels as high quality as any multi tool I've ever handled. For me, it's right up there with the most expensive Leatherman's and the Gerber Legend, but , again, for somewhat less $$. Yep, she's a keeper. Got one for a son-in-law too. Highly recommend.

Leatherman does it right. Very sturdy hard working multi tool. Easy to use, so many great options. Knife is super sharp. What else can I say?

This is the first multi tool I've carried, now I can't imagine not having it. I've been using it every day for about 3 months and it's holding up fine. I carry it in the nylon belt case which works just fine for now. If you're used to edc'ing a pocket knife and wouldn't mind something on your belt, or in your other pocket (it has a pocket clip on it), you'll love this. It won't take the place of a good dedicated knife, but having the extra tools on hand is really nice.

This thing is a mechanical marvel. Everything is compact, but sturdy and substantial enough to use. It feels so satisfying, opening and closing and just feeling the heft of it. The blade is well designed because it locks properly and isn't difficult to pull in and out. The scissors are actually usable, which is rare for a tool that is also so small. This is very high quality and makes for an excellent gift or everyday tool you can attach to your belt or easily put in a pocket.

Soy técnico de sonido y para mi primera Leatherman he dudado mucho en si comprar el modelo Wave o este. Al final me decidí por este, entre otras cosas por el precio (prácticamente la mitad) y también por el peso (50gr menos) y la comodidad que eso conlleva. Además, en cuanto a funciones, la única diferencia es que Wave tiene puntas intercambiables, cosa que esta no tiene (solo tiene una punta plana y otra en estrella), pero para el uso que le voy a dar, con las dos puntas de la Wingman me valía.Mi recomendación es que miréis todos los modelos antes de compraros una Leatherman. Quizás penséis que tirar a por el modelo más "tocho" es mejor, pero si os vale una más básica pero muy buena como es esta, que tiene un gran precio para lo que ofrece, os aconsejo tirar a por esta. Todo depende del uso que le vayáis a dar, claro. Pero esta, para un uso básico (incluso más que básico) está más que bien.

Der Leatherman ist im Prinzip ein super Werkzeug, jedoch gibt es 2 Einschränkungen:1. Das Tragen in Deutschland: Das Werkzeug darf nicht einfach so am Hosenbund transportiert werden, da dieses aufgrund der einhändig ausklappbaren Klinge als eine Art Waffe gilt. Genaueres dazu findet man im Internet.2. Bei mir ist der Gürtelklip teilweise gebrochen, sodass sich dieser frei drehen ließ. Zwar wurde der Leatherman im Rahmen der Garantie (nicht zu verwechseln mit der Gewährleistung!) repariert, jedoch musste ich dafür die Versandkosten tragen.Der kaputte Gürtelklip war hoffentlich nur ein Problem meines Tools und daher kann ich den Leatherman weiterempfehlen, sofern Punkt 1 nicht an der Verwendung hindert.

Que decir sobre Leatherman? Calidad/Fiabilidad absoluta. Por desgracia hay un pero:La he recibido hace escasos minutos y me he quedado un tanto sorprendido por el aspecto de la multiusos. Está como manoseada, no sé si usada o no, pero...manchada si. Me parece de tener muy poco cuidado a la hora de la venta de un artículo y más siendo éste en sí. Por lo demás, muy contento con mi Leatherman. Servicio Amazón, puntual como siempre. No obstante, una maravilla de multiusos. Totalmente aconsejable!!

The media could not be loaded.  Auf der Suche nach einem neuen Tool für mein EDC habe ich mich für das Leatherman Wingman entschieden. Ich besitze schon einige Tools verschiedener Hersteller, aber dieses soll mein täglicher Begleiter werden. Damit ich nicht zuviel Text schreibe, habe ich mich entschieden mein erstes Video hier zu veröffentlichen. Bitte deshalb um Nachsicht, wenn noch nicht alles 100%ig klappt.Das Öffnen und Schließen des Tools geht sonst leichter, es sieht nur etwas schwerer aus als es ist! :-)Optik:Das Finish bei meinem Leatherman (wie im Video zu sehen) könnte man eher als nicht poliert bezeichnen, eher leichter matter „Used-Style“ obwohl es meiner Meinung nach neu ist (hoffe ich mal) Es gibt keine scharfen Ecken, Kante oder Grate o. ä., alles ist sauber bearbeitet.Zum Tool:Das Tool ist um die Zange herum ausgebaut und eher ein Light-Duty Tool. Die Zange gehört eigentlich in eine größere Kategorie Medium. Qualitativ okay, für mein EDC perfekt geeignet vor allem in dieser Preisklasse, hier kenne ich nichts Vergleichbares.Ich kann es nicht mit meinem Victorinox CS Plus vergleichen, dass ist in einer anderen Klasse vertreten ist, denn es wiegt und kostet aber auch zweieinhalb mal so viel.Allerdings am Anfang manchmal leathermantypisch doch etwas schwergängig. Hier helfen ein paar Tropfen Ballistol- Öl.Von Außen lassen sich nur die Schere und das Messer öffnen, für alles andere muss das Tool geöffnet werden.Maße & Gewicht:- Material ist lt. ...leider hält das Leatherman Wingman nicht ganz, was der äußere Anschein verspricht.Es ist nur minimal kompakter als das Wave, wiegt aber etwa 20% weniger (Wave ca. 240g, Wingman ca. 190g).Die Qualität des Wingman reicht ganz klar nicht an die des Wave heran.Die Zange hat deutliches Spiel, was sich besonders in geschlossenem Zustand an wackligen Griffen bemerkbar macht.Die Zange öffnet übrigens durch Federkraft.Die Messerklinge, sowie die Schere, öffnen sich nur schwergängig. Dies lässt sich zwar dank der verschraubten Konstruktion verbessern,man bezahlt dafür aber mit einem deutlichen, seitlichen Spiel.Die Schere weist eine Eigenart auf. Sie wird durch ziehen an dem Metallstift, der in geöffnetem Zustand als Feder dient, geöffnet.Ein vollständiges Öffnen, bis zum Verriegeln, ist aber nur möglich, wenn man umgreift und an dem feststehenden Teil der Schere drückt.Macht man das nicht, so hat man den Eindruck, die Schere sei nicht gefedert. Sie ist dann praktisch nicht nutzbar.Diese beiden Werkzeuge sind die einzigen, die in geöffnetem Zustand verriegeln. Die anderen Werkzeuge können, ähnlich wie bei einem Taschenmesser, durch Druck gegen die Rückenfeder geschlossen werden, wobei die Feststellkraft der Rückenfeder allerdings sehr groß ist.Das Wingman leidet natürlich auch an der "Krankheit", dass ein Werkzeug nicht ausgeklappt werden kann, ohne die danebenliegenden, zumindest ein großes Stück weit, ebenfalls zu öffnen.Dieses Phänomen zeigt sich allerdings bei allen meinen Multitools der gängigen (namhaften) Hersteller, außer bei denen von Victorinox.Positiv hervorheben möchte ich den vorhandenen Clip, der mich auch zum Kauf bewogen hat.Im Gegensatz zu meinen anderen Multitools, die nur mit einem Gürteletui getragen werden können, kann das Wingman, mit dem Clip unverrückbar fixiert, in der Hosentasche getragen werden, ohne dass es sich querlegt oder vielleicht sogar herausfällt.
