Product Works Well
The Fly Terminator (Gallon Kit) does a very good job of attracting and capturing flies. The Gallon Size is a plus, as it is a unpleasant task to clean out, due to the smell. The attractant works well and is mixed with water to capture the flies. As with all products, take the time to read the instructions. You may want to wear a pair of disposable, latex or vinyl gloves when adding the attractant, as the smell is intense and you would not want to get it on your person. The top piece is quality made of metal and plastic. I use a 3/32" Braided Dacron, which is UV resistant, to tie it to a tree. I add water to it on occasion, due to evaporation and as it fills with flies. Toward the end of July (In Wisconsin) is when I set it up. I believe the flies are more obnoxious during the sweet-corn harvest and the flies are moving out of the fields. I have several of these set up around the yard, no closer than 50 feet from the house, as the Fly Terminator can give off an odor at times. The collection jar does fill up with flies and larva begins to spawn. It is at this time that I glove-up and dig a hole, dumping the contents (carefully) into the hole and covering it up, due to the smell. The Fly Terminator is a very good product, compared to fly tapes and other sprays or pesticides.

Love it!
If you've ever used those little plastic traps you buy at the feed store, or at Wal Mart, give this a try. You will not be disappointed. This trap lasts longer than the tiny disposable traps, and it saves you tons of money. I started out buying the traps with the black plastic lid. I loved those too, but this one is a step up from there. If you're going to buy a Fly Terminator trap, get this one with the yellow metal lid on top. For a dollar or two more than the ones with the black plastic lid, you'll get one that is more durable, and easier to fill. Oh, and less expensive. The four ounce attractant that comes with the new and improved model (with the yellow metal lid) saves you the money it would cost for three uses of the trap. The old kind came with a single dose for one use. So right there you're saving money, but that's not the only thing. You're saving money and at the same time getting a better trap. You don't have to worry about making sure the lid is up to keep the openings open for the flies to enter. The metal lid provides permanent access to the interior for the flies. For a while we had such a miserable infestation of flies that the trap would contain several inches of dead flies in just a couple of days. This trap is absolutely amazing! Now that I have enough traps for our little ranch, it keeps the fly population down to a low level. It never does completely eliminate the flies, but you don't have to worry about them nearly as much if you have the Terminator. Survivalist by Circumstance - Volume Thirteen

Gross but great!
If you have a "fly problem" this is the product for you!Over the years I've fought with amazing fly problems.... neighbor with huge dogs & sporatic hmmmm "waste pickup" schedule. This thing really works as a fly attractant & killer. The flies are attracted to the "bait / attractant" and subsquently to the mass of trapped / dead flies. The only problem is the somewhat powerful smell (stink) of the unit in work. I hung mine behind the garage far from my patio / kitchen & neighbors' use areas. Don't consider hanging it under the patio cover or within 30' of usable areas. You have to add water on occasion so there is liquid to drown the flies.Like I said, a bit nasty / stinky but very effective.

Performs best outdoors
This product performs very well OUTDOORS after a few days. Results are slow to start, but as fly number increases inside the trap so do the number attracted. Within a week hundreds could be caught in the right conditions. Sunny spot 3 feet of the ground with light winds produced the highest number of captures. Give the product time to work and you wont be disappointed. NOTE - releases a VERY strong odor, NOT to be used inside.

UNBELIEVABLE!
It took a couple of days to start to see results, but once it started to collect flies, it was like a magnet!!! I never dreamed there were so many flies around here. It's pretty disgusting when you have to empty it, but WELL worth putting up with the smell. Just remember to use rubber/plastic gloves when handling it!

It filled with flies in two weeks.
I'm using this product near my miniature donkey yard. The kit has definitely reduced the fly population. It's gross to empty but well worth the bother.

Fly killer
We live out in the country by a creek. This saves us from having a fly problem. We just put some fish and water in it and place it in the far end of the yard. Its' amazing how many flies we catch. We end up having to dump it at least twice during the summer. It's kind of nasty to dump it, but well worth not having flies.
