If you're stuck between cold brew makers, choose this one and here is why!
*Scroll to bottom for Update*First, let me tell you that this Cold Brew Coffee Maker is designed PERFECTLY. Before buying Pijio's coffee maker, I did extensive research between Pijio and competing cold brew makers. The top brands were Oxo, Hario, Takeya, Primula, and Toddy. I was only interested in these brands because they had the most reviews and were the most popular. I only came across Pijio by mistake, but I am sooooo thankful I did. Here is a comparison between these name brands based on my research. For the most part, all cold brew makers do the same thing- make cold brew. The only differences are the prices and how bad their flaws are.Oxo ~$50- Pricey- Has drainage problems- Pricey. I'm not trying to spend $50 on something that has the same function as one worth $20Hario Mizudashi ~$15 (on Amazon the time I checked)- Very sleek design- Glass- Durability is terrible. I share a fridge with a roommate so I didn't want my new cold brew maker to shatter if one of us closed the fridge door too hard. I didn't want it to break if I left it in the dish drying rack and have something slip and fall onto it. And... If i'm getting coffee in the morning as I'm rushing out the door, I don't have time to be super slow and careful and concerned?? about my coffee maker breaking. (If you can't tell this was the make or break for me).- Oh and not air tight. How will it keep my cold brew fresh all week?? I could put it in a separate container but that defeats the purpose of it being "all in one".Takeya ~$20 (Price was $20 when I checked 4/12/17, it is now $25 two days later)- Great reviews, but it's made of plastic. Even though it's BPA free, it's PLASTIC. No thanksPrimula ~$25- Thin glass- Also has durability problems- don't want to waste money when other people have already gone through this for meToddy ~$45 on Amazonn, $40 on its website (but that shipping fee)- Pricey- Have to replace filters, lol when all these others have reusable filters? PasssssPijio ~$20- Silicon bumper for protection against tables and countertops (yay)- Reasonably thick glass, does not look like it will shatter if bumped the wrong way (thank god, finally)- Design looks great (looks great on the countertop)- AIR TIGHT (YES)- Instructions are clear and simple on the side of the box in ENGLISH (apparently the Hario instructions are in Japanese)- Has measurement marks on the side of the container so you don't have to guess and check how much fluid you have in there! So I narrowed it down price-wise first, which left me with the Hario, Takeya, Primula, and Pijio. The Toddy and Oxo were over twice the price of their competitors, but if the price isn't a concern of yours then I mean... Anyways, Hario was my top pick at $15, but all the reviews about its super thin glass and durability problems had me second guessing it. Takeya was next, price wise, but the container is made of plastic, which lacks in longevity. Turn off for me. Primula also had concerns of durability and frankly, just had more bad reviews than the others. Then I luckily saw Pijio. I was drawn in by its high ratings. 81%+ Rated it 5 stars, more than all the rest. Saw no issues with thin glass or durability, and the design looked solid. There was a concern with leakage, however I have tested it. I closed the lid, shook it around, and not a drop fell out. There was also 0 problems with the pouring. Just make sure the stout is aligned with the opening and you're good to go (super easy, honestly not even an issue). I uploaded some pictures of my Pijio and placed it next to a 12oz mason jar for size comparison. The Pijio uses about 2 standard Poland Spring water bottles worth of water, to give you an idea of how much coffee it would produce.Easy Directions:1. Fill 3/4 with water (800mL mark)2. Add 1 cup of ground coffee to filter (I used pre-grounded coffee that you can easily buy anywhere because I don't have a grinder and don't intend on buying one)-Side Note-: According to others, the mesh is fine enough that you can use fine ground coffee, just ditch the last bit because there will be some silt at the bottom, but very minimal amount.3. Put the filter back onto the lid and seal it shut.4. Not necessary, but I shook the whole thing periodically to make sure that the all of the coffee grounds are thoroughly wetLASTLY, customer service is a 10/10. Pijio sent me an email immediately after I made my purchase to offer me assistance should I need any. I sent them a thank you email, and they actually replied to that as well. This makes me feel more secure with my purchase knowing that they actually care about their customers.OH, and Pijio donates 10% of all profits to help fight poverty!! How great is that?I just wish someone had compared all of these cold brew makers in one place so that I didn't have to. It would have saved me a lot of time and research. So hopefully you find this one helpful in your search for the perfect cold brew coffee maker!!*UPDATE*- 1 batch of cold brew fills 2 16-oz cups if you drink it black, 3 cups if you drink it 50% coffee 50% milk, 4 cups for 25% coffee, 75% milk, sugar, etc- It seems pretty concentrated to me --> I left mine out on the counter for 12 hours and in the fridge for 12 hours, shake it a little when I remember- I found no silt in my cold brew and I use pre-grounded fine ground coffee- It is indeed very sturdy and easy to wash- My father, an avid hot coffee and espresso lover, tried a cup of my cold brew and took my cold brew coffee maker the same day so now I have to order another one

Cold brew is the new Hot
I work at an Amazon fulfillment center and packed one of these out for a customer. I thought it was intersting so I did a little research and thought this brand because it was reasonably priced and most of the designs were very similar. I was pleasently surprised with the eco friendly packaging and helpful tips written write on the box. I ground up some fresh beans, assembled my brewer, placed it in the fridge, and 24 hours later I had the best tasting coffee ever. The taste was very full yet mellow without the harsh acidity of the hot brew coffee. I had now idea coffee could have so much flavor without adding anything to it. The brew was easy to clean, fits nice in my fridge, and it is very well assembled. You can tell a lot of thought went into its design and construction.

Great product, great price, great company = great Christmas
Ok, so the company I bought this from contacted me to ask if everything went okay - did i like it? I was surprised to have heard from them so soon after buying it - actually to hear from them at all...but I let them know it was a gift for my daughter and it would not be opened until Christmas. They said they were grateful for my business and to let them know if we had any questions or needed anything, etc.Well, I forgot all about it until my daughter said to me yesterday that it was the best gift she got out of everything! She uses it every day and could not be happier with it. She said if I wrote a review that I should mention that it is water tight - when she heads to her friend's house, she can make the coffee in the pot, throw it in the backseat of the car and have it ready in the morning! She said it makes about 4 really big cups of ice coffee and that she loves it. In the summer she'll use it for iced tea. She said the coffee is so delicious and that cold brew is the way to go if you love iced coffee. The one thing she said it doesn't say is whether or not it is dishwasher safe...so if anyone knows...

A great cold brewer - hands down.
I just started cold brewing and I feel that I have made a right choice by going with this brewer. When I was searching the recommended time you should allow your coffee to cold brew (I drink Death Wish), a lot of people had said that you should generally wait 12 hours. When I poured my first tumbler full of coffee, I regretted not investing in a cold brewer before! Not only does it cut down on the acidic content of the coffee itself (typically with robusta beans, they're less acidic than arabica), but it tastes a lot better than the traditional style of heated brewing in a coffee pot. It states that you can keep your cold brew fresh up to 2 weeks in this container, but the coffee and the way the cold brew brings out the flavor, makes it hard not to drink it right up! Definitely a great investment!

Works great!
I really like this coffee maker. The fact that it has no filters really sold me. Everything seems really sturdy. Makes about 3 cups of coffee. It says to use 1 cup of coffee but any grounds that aren't covered by water won't even get wet, so I use a bit less or fill it a bit more to go to almost to the top. Cold brewed coffee is so smooth and delicious. The acid is mostly gone, and it's already cold for iced coffee. You will most likely have to tweak how long you leave it to steep according to how strong you like it, though I keep it pretty strong and just delute it with water or milk if I am doing a iced latte. Great for iced coffee strong so when the ice melts it's normal strength instead of watery. Easy to clean.
