Low price point allowed me to upgrade from hand finishing.
Much faster than hand finishing. Was able to reach to corner with pole standing on floor. Made job faster, safer, gave consistent results. First time using semi automatic tools. Used compound tube to apply mud.

Great for first coat
These plastic flushers have their use but they are not "all that" I use the small one for bedding the tape. You just don't need to spend a bunch of money on a nice flusher when you will be adding another coat anyway. Spend your money on a nice 3½" flusher for your top coat. The plastic flusher is nice for bedding since you get both sides done at one time from the floor but you will still have to clean up both ends by hand.

Honesty from a pro
I purchased a set of Nycor flushers after using a borrowed set of Can Am metal flushers over the last year. The project I planned to break them in on was a 1330sqft basement. I have to say I’m quite disappointed. I’ve been hand finishing for the last 10 years and while these expedite the process by being able to quickly finish both sides of an inside corner from the ground, they don’t even compare to metal flushers. They don’t “feather” the edges well at all. Almost a guarantee that you’ll have to go back and hand wipe the entire pass. The other big disappointment is that they fit very lose on ball head attachments so the process of lifting off a joint for a seamless finish becomes nearly impossible, as the head will just flop and drag a line through the finish. I remedied a temporary solution for this by taking a small piece of fiberglass joint tape and wrapping the ball head before attaching the flusher. It works for a brief period. All in all, in a professional world, these could be use for a small repair job where you may just have a few joints to tape/finish. But to do an entire house or something of that nature, you’ll spend more time fixing your passes then if you’d just finished by hand. I hope this helps save someone the trouble. I never leave reviews but I had to in this case because I’ve invested a lot of money in this company’s tools. I ordered the same set of metal flushers I’ve borrowed for the last year and hope that Can Am will make this right and refund me for the Nycors. Wish I would’ve done it right to begin with.
