I ordered this bottle a while back and loved it. Unfortunately, I dropped it and slightly split the bottom "base," resulting in a sharp metal edge. I removed the base and still use the bottle. When I tried to order another one, they were unavailable. Recently I saw them again online and quickly ordered the 25oz stainless steel one to match my old one. Perfection! I can now alternate these two bottles.I tried several other bottles in between but none of them kept the drinks (and ice) as cold for as long a time. I also love the contoured shape which makes it easy to hold. The others were just bulky in my hand.The straw is my choice, love the extras and the brushes. This one came with a black "cozy" which just adds another insulating layer, always good.Although this one is a little more expensive, I can really recommend it to avoid all those plastic bottles, which is my main goal. The handle is also very sturdy and I carry it with me all the time. I am really happy with both of them!

My husband got this water bottle for me for my 40th birthday. First of all, let me say that we are a HUGE water family of 6 athletes. We paid a ton of money for a water system bc we ALL drink so much water. We all FIGHT over water bottles. I just looked in my cabinet and counted 14 water bottles from Under Armour, Contigo, CamelBack, and Thermos..... NONE of these worked well for us longer than a month. The bottles sweated, didn't stay cold, were hard to hold, didn't fit our beverage holders in the car, and worst of all, the mouth pieces stopped performing. Enter Hydracentials: The bottle is sleek, BPA free, doesn't sweat, STAYS COLD, doesn't leak, is easy to handle (even for my 7 year old's tiny hands), fits our car beverage holders, and the mouth piece performs amazingly well and is easy to clean. I can not say enough fabulous things about this water bottle. The true testament is that we are all trashing the other water bottles (*which NONE of the mouthpieces work properly*) and all ordering one of these. For anyone else wondering, they do come in various sizes so if this one is too small for you, look at the 25oz. We will be getting that one for 2 of the family members for sports. (real reason, really bought and really my opinion for nothing in return)Bought before a hike/nature trip on Iceland's Ring Road, lots of treks and on the road. This bottle was lightweight but held a sufficient amount of water to get through most of the day. It cleaned easily each night at the hotel. It never leaked, ever. Not once. And it swung in a backpack, fell down, and no leaks. The stainless steel gives a pure fresh taste to the water (including a melted glacier stream). It kept water cool but to be fair, it was not hot weather so I can't say it was rigorously tested on this. Highly recommend. Easy to hold shape. Extra straws, two tops is a bonus.

Buying cases of water at $10.00 a case of 24 was getting old and expensive. I decided to buy this Hydracentials 16 oz after reading reviews and my own research. I chose this one mainly for the flip down spout. The spout has a tab on it so I can open, drink, and close it with one hand. The container is well made and holds enough water without having to carry a big jug around. With the loop handle on top, its easy to carry with 1 finger. There is a plastic straw that is attached to the inside lid so you can drink without tipping the container. I did not test its thermal properties since I drink water at room temperature and not ice cold.If you're looking to buy this thinking you'll put your hot coffee in it, buy something else. This one is NOT for hot liquids.There is a down-side to this container. I cannot find a replacement lid assembly for the 16 oz container (25 oz size has replacement lids) Why would I need a replacement lid? The metal container's top edge is fairly sharp. Over time, the lids seal will become damaged and will leak. Maybe by the time i need a replacement, there will be one. For now, I can't find one.The parts are easy to wash and rinse clean so no worries there.I'm not sure if there was instructions that came with it but the spout has a small hole on top when folded down for drinking. You have to cover the hole with your finger before drinking. Otherwise, it will not work.There was a free offer, inside the container, for a cozie cover. All you need do is send your name, address, and Amazon purchase number on the website and they send it to you.I'm pretty satisfied and would recommend this to friends.UPDATED: I've been using this container for a couple of months now and I still love it. I did try ice and liquids to test its ability to keep beverages cold. Its superb! The water stayed cold for 6 hours and with ice that did not melt completely.I still wish there was instructions on using it. I had developed a leak when the container was laying on its side. I wrote to Kristen Darkenwald about it. Kristen responded by sending me 2 new covers, 4 extra straws, another complete 16 oz container, 2-16 oz covers, 2 straw brushes to clean the straws, and another cozy outer insulation cover.I was surprised on how much Kristen had sent me. Customer service and satisfaction was and is... OUTSTANDING!!!!Though, I still rate the container at 4 stars for lack of instructions.After investigating my problem leakage, I determined the reason my container was leaking was caused by the spout not being fully closed and locked. When it is fully closed there will be a noticeable "click" as the spout locks into place.
