River of Blood (The Frontiersman)

A good read. Very strong main character. The story moves well and gives you barely time to catch your breath. It has good action but be aware it deals with a lot of soiled doves, nothing graphic though. The fights are a bit graphic but not as bad as other books by this author.

Good read

I really enjoyed reading this book. There was plenty of action. I liked all the characters in this book. I think everyone will enjoy reading this book. I think it's one of his best books written to date.

great series

have always followed this author, even after his death when ghost writers took over. It is falling off from his original narratives. A little to much scene setting and to little action.

Good book. Too short. Characters are shallow but believable. Needed more description of the Blackfoot raid. Overall a pretty good read

I hope this writer can stay with the wilderness frontiersman for a larger frontier series, not just three books, keep it in the frontier and you will have a bigger reader outlet, not always the 1950's cowboy. Also change the pictures on the covers of your books they look like a bunch of snowflakes, not hairy alpha males in greasy dirty buckskins, come on writer you must keep it real.

Love this series and will be waiting anxiously for each book to come out. Breckenridge Wallace is a very good character, reminds me of Smoke and the other Jensens'.

I read, after buying the book, that William Johnston is sadly no longer with us. So his plots are written by somebody else. And you can tell. It’s good but not great. The family needs to be up front with this

Very good enjoyed it

Great to read. Read over 40 of the Johnstone books and all are entertaining.

The story was very good and I enjoyed it very much. However the back 6 pages and cover were torn, there was damage on the top of book and the binding had a crack in it like it had been bent.
