VMAXTANKS BC1204 12V 3.3 Amp 4-Stage Automatic Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer

I just used this for the first time and it doesn't work. This is a piece of garbage and I would give it zero stars if I could.

I've used a number of 12v chargers, but this is the best. I primarily use it to recharge a VMAX 35Ah AGM trolling motor and 8Ah AGM fish finder battery. I sometimes spend 10 hours or more on the water on a pontoon, so I needed the lightest batteries I could get away with, and maximizing their charge is essential. So far, this system has always got me back to the dock with power to spare.Four green and one red LED lights give info re discharge level at start of charge and real-time charge status (lights also flash if you reverse polarity). When done, it shifts to trickle charge, so battery is always at its peak. Also like that it is small and light compared to other chargers. Standard computer power cord (IEC) connector can be removed, and it easily stores tackle bag.Highly recommended.

Plugged it in and it lit up like a Christmas tree. Not clear it was doing anything. Didn't seem to charge since battery was still in gasping mode later. Left connected all night. Battery was alive in morning. Assumed something wonderful happened since battery showed signs of invigoration--barely, but a good sign. I will keep it hooked up although running up my electric bill. Have a nagging feeling that I should buy a new battery. My return on this investment is questionable. But a lesson earned is a lesson gained. I'll keep it--maybe for electroconvulsive therapy. Perhaps I should enclose a pic with a clip on each of my ears.

I have several of these that I use to maintain some gel batteries. They work fine most of the time, but if there is enough of a draw on the battery and the charger cannot keep up, there comes a point at which the charger assumes the battery is dead and shuts off. Then you have to unplug it and plug it back in. Because of this these chargers have to be mounted where they are visible and have to be occasionally monitored. The wires are thin and the clamps are cheap. On the positive side, it's sealed and durable, and the display is understandable - it likes to blink. It can get hot on the back side.

Use this to charge my vmax size U1 35 amp battery on my kayak. Great company, customer service is A+....sent new charger when I encountered problems with the original charger. Easy peazy to use. I’m happy with this charger and will buy again!

I dont know what people are talking about with the charger getting hot mine stays cool anyways, I love this charger it's simple, easy to tell if fully charged, it doesn't charge too fast, which is perfect since faster chargers lead the battery to not last as long, and also that it refreshes the battery if discharged for too long I'd recommend this charger for any battery

Seems to work well. The LARGE battery clips seem a bit overdone for a charger that supplies a 3.3Amp max charge current. They also are somewhat more difficult to clip on the usual Gel Cell battery blade trerminals
