Good low profile system! (Leak Tesolved)
Hey guys, I’ve owned several APEC RO systems and RO-Twist works well for my current kitchen setup. I’ve had their standard RO50 in my other properties, although they worked well, they are bulkier and messier to change filters. If you have the cabinet space, RO90 is probably the better option due to longer filter life. RO Twist is more for people who prefer a clean filter change, and free up more cabinet space. APEC also have a tankless system, but those systems and filters do come at a premium $.RO Twist Water Leak (I have the earlier version):First is the leaking issue with my RO-Twist (check photos), 8-9 months into owning the system it started to develop a leak on the filter head, it was leaking in the seams between the 1st and 2nd filter. I used JB Water Weld putty to patch it, and the leaking stopped for another year before it started dripping again last week, that’s when I contacted APEC. Thank God I had a wireless leak detector from Govee. APEC were quick to ship out a new/redesigned filter head along with a leak detection shut-off valve (check photo for placement). When comparing the old and the new design, you can see that they decided to go back to the tried and true way of connecting different filter heads, which is using the push-to-connect fittings/tubing which can take much higher pressure and is leak free as long as water pressure in your house is less than 80 psi (my home is 55psi).Water damage can be very expensive and most insurance will even drop you from these type of damage claims. Here are the preventative countermeasures I use and recommend:1. RO Leak Detector shut-off valve: Mount this to the ground surface where water is most likely to gather, and it’s installed between the red tubing from the tap to the RO (before 1st filter). If water is leaking, the expansion cloth inside the cap of the shut-off valve will trigger the spring loaded switch to cut-off water supply to the RO.2. Govee Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector (Uses Govee App): I have about 20 of these throughout my home, 3 under the kitchen sink, and I have them under the dishwasher, water softener, washer, fridge, and under every sink and behind every toilet in the house. This was the detector that alerted me to the initial RO leak, without it this would have caused water damage. I was able to get to it when it was only a few drops of water!3. If you look at the pictures I posted, under both the RO-Twist and the ReadyHot tank, I have leak trays placed directly underneath them. I then place a Govee water leak detector in each of them. This is your first line of defense should there be a leak.4 (Optional): Moen Flow, this is a whole house leak detection / shut off / remote wireless control. This system takes professional install, it’s expensive and takes time to adjust and calibrate to prevent unwanted shutoff. The good thing about this and Govee’s system is you can monitor remotely, and with the Moen Flow you can shutoff water to your entire home remotely from anywhere in the world with internet access. Also for people who question the filter life, it has a lot to do with how much you use, and the quality of the water that’s coming in. My untreated water is sub 200ppm, which is low (my other properties are 300-350 ppm), and my water softener also removes the harder minerals which extends the life of the RO filters. My current filter is close to 1.5 years of usage and still output 6-7ppm. If your water source is really bad, you might want to consider getting the RO90 instead, and perhaps a water softener.I also highly recommend HM Digital DM-1, an In-line TDS detector, only takes about 5 mins to install, and it makes it so much easier to test your water purity in a way that’s consistent. Finally I want to thank APEC for their quick response to my issue even though it was outside of warranty, and they quickly sent me the newly redesigned RO Twist Head + leak detector shut-off valve, and answered all the questions I had, service was excellent.(I was not paid or given anything for this review, I just like the product.)

Looks like a good system but received with damaged o ring on sediment filter - update
Since the system is not yet functional, I can't rate flavor.Disappointed that the unit had a damaged o ring.Have contacted Apec for a replacement.I added a permeate pump to the system which was easy to install with this system.I don't know why all ROs don't included a permeate pump - increased pressure and decreased waste water.Update - Apec was very responsive to my issue with the bad o ring and is shipping me a new filter.Great response!Update - Unit developed a leak between the first and 2nd stage filters after 14 months of use. This is now the 2nd unit to develop a leak. My first unit had a very small leak in this same area. Apec was quick to send a replacement manifold for this initial leak. Looking at other reviews, looks like these units have an issue with leaking in this area. Waiting on a replacement under warranty.

Read this -- Stops producing after a very short time. You will need constant filter replacements.
Put into production with a very light load. Drinking water only for 2 adults. Seems the pre-filters gunked up within 2-3 months, then after replacing the prefilters they're gunked up again after 3-4 weeks. This is tap water only, with a carbon block pre-filter (yes, a pre-filter for the RO system's prefilters on already drinkable city water) and I'm still already back to just getting a tiny trickle of output, maybe 3oz overnight. That's one shot glass of water a night from this expensive endeavor I have to keep throwing filters at. This does NOT meet up to the specifications outlined by the manufacturer. Buyer beware!

Great for stinky Orlando water!
I got this for my condo in Orlando (where the water smells like sulfur/rotten eggs). It works really well! Easy to install and get going (I love the colored tubes). Only challenge I had is the water pressure was too low. So, I also purchased a RO pump and hooked that up as well. Since doing that, this works perfectly!

System not working
Worked for a few days then tank stopped filling and therefore no water supply to faucet or fridge. Bummer. Called customer service, still waiting for a reply...
