Dorman 747-020 Trunk Latch Actuator Bracket Compatible with Select Volkswagen Models

The Trunk Latch Actuator Bracket fit my 2001 VW Jetta perfectly and was easy to install once I was able to get the trunk lid open. It would appear to be better quality and design then the original VW unit. Having the part arrive in 2 days was wonderful!

The swinging arm mechanism seems to get stuck if you use the manual release. It's almost like it binds and you have to use the electronic unlock to get it to POP back. Makes a loud sound which is kinda scary but all in all how many times doi even plan to use the manual release. Seems to be working well so far and time will tell the durability!

Made in China but good quality part. Fits perfectly and installs in minutes. #2 Phillips, 10mm deep socket, T20 Torx, ratchet handle and an optional Crows Foot are all that's needed. Plastic arm seems more appropriately flexible that OE Volkswagen and should be more durable over time. We shall see.
