Woodlore Cedar Shoe Rack

This is a very good shoe rack for use in smaller places. Cedar fragrance is strong, and apparently Woodlore has made some improvements in construction. My unit arrived and included six brass screws and an allen wrench rather than the dowel rods that others describe. Assembly was very straightforward and simple. When complete, the unit was very sturdy and I have purchased more to stack. Stacking is where the included wood dowels come in - there are pre-drilled holes on the top and bottom of each of the side panels so that the units can be stacked. You should consider the extenders if your shoes are taller than 2 inches and are not flexible.

Smells wonderful, looks great, easy to assemble. Stack great, well organizes shoes. Amazing how much more walking room our closet has, I have six and my wife has nine, shoes actually stay in better condition in the rack.

Board showed up warped, because of this peg broke when trying to install. Half of the rack is unusable.

These are nice enough shoe racks. As other have mentioned, they don't have much room between when you stack them. I bought the extensions which put another 2" or so between them. I bought some for my wife's shoes as well. For flats they work fine. For heels not so well - too easy for a heel to slip off one of the thin rails. The cedar looks nice and of course smells great.Other people have mentioned that these tend to fall apart and that the slats/rails for the shoes move around. This is true. But they seem to stay put just fine once you get shoes on them. And I haven't had any problems getting my shoes on and off them.A few things I would improve. I'm sure these would drive up the cost, but I would pay a little extra for these:- Minor issue, but I would use cedar dowels. The dowels/pegs the include for assembly are fine and aren't terribly noticeable, but cedar would look better where the dowel ends are exposed.- Some way to fasten these together would be nice. They work, but it would be nicer if they were more secure. A drop of glue at the end of each dowel likely would work after some drying time. But then you could never get them apart. Perhaps some small screws? (I get that they'd have all kinds of support issues if people had to screw these together.)- Some of the pieces aren't quite cut to the same length - only off by 1/4" or so, but a rail being off that much is very noticeable. I took them all to a chop saw and get them evened up. This is a minor cosmetic issue, but should never happen in this kind of product.These seem to be an ok if less than ideal solution for shoe storage in a clothes closet. I'm sure there's a better option, but I don't know what it is. These work for now.Recommendation: I added some small trim screws to the back side through the dowels/pegs and into the side of the rails to keep them from spinning. Had to carefully drill a small pilot hole for each one. The screw heads are tiny and not very noticeable. This are now rock solid.

We specifically wanted a cedar shoe rack and found our choices were limited. This rack is nicely built, smells great and looks great in our mudroom. The rack will hold 3 pairs of men's shoes/boots or 4 pairs of women's loafers. We purchased the extenders as well and they give us enough height for my husband to get his shoes in/out without worrying about scraping them on the rack above. We are also able to get a pair of hiking boots on the rack with the extenders. We placed tall boots/Uggs are on the top rack as there is not enough room with the extenders for them to be on a bottom shelf. Very happy with our purchase.

Easy assembly, works great.

I had 3 of these from a few years ago and needed more recently. The new additions fit seamlessly with the original set and are already helping me keep my closet better organized. No doubt I'll get more if and when I need them.

If im being honest this is rather horrible. Poor worksmanship, unfinished wood, pegs for the extenders have no grip to them.Basically nice smelling wood that suffices. For the price its a complete ripoff.
