Barbara Pym: A BBC Radio Drama Collection: Some Tame Gazelle, No Fond Return of Love, Crampton Hodnet & More

This is a valuable set of recordings for any fan of Barbara Pym. It consists mostly of full-cast radio performances of several novels, abridged. Then it ends with a fine reading of an abridged version of _Excellent Women_, a reading of some correspondence between Pym and Philip Larkin, and finally we hear Pym herself describing her voice as a writer.I prefer the unabridged version of Excellent Women, but every part of this 16.5-hour collection has real value. The performances and readings are all done well, and the production is thoughtful.
