I bought this to hang a string of garden lanterns and it does the job perfectly. Also it is extremely good value for money.

A bit of a fiddle but got there in the end.

Did the job just great

When you watch any tutorial video of how to install this kind of tension wire, they have easy to use hooks and connectors which are tightened with an Allen key. These have weird metal loops which come fully closed that you are supposed to prise open with pliers (next to impossible) and then close up again once the wire is put on them. And then the 'figure of eight' connector which you loop the wire through, you're supposed to somehow 'crimp' this to keep the wire in place at one end. The expanding connectors are OK but is totally let down by these flimsy and fiddly looping equipment on the other end. Not sure how I'm going to finish securing these, you can't even twist the stainless steel wire properly because it has a weird plastic-like coating on it which just makes it bend back. Really unimpressed.Update: I gave up trying to get the "thimbles" to stay in place, every time I tried to tighten them they'd fly off or set at a weird angle. I think you'd need a proper heavy-duty crimping tool to have any hope of squashing the crimp barrels - ordinary pliers don't stand a chance. In the end, to save spending more money on something better, I mixed up some Araldite, tensioned the rope as much as possible and then applied it liberally around the barrels and eyelets, left for a couple of days to really set, seems to have done the trick. Can still tension the wire using the turnbuckles which are free to move. Very unimpressed with the whole system, shouldn't have to bodge a job like this.

Seems to do the job but its ability to tolerate Welsh weather conditions will take time to assess. The coating over the wire means it doesn't fray when cut.

I requested a refund as this set is not suitable for wooden fencing.No response from seller.

Ich habe das Paket gekauft, weil ich Spannhaken und Zubehör benötigt habe. Das Seil habe ich in 2 mm Stärke ohne Ummantelung separat bestellt. Das ummantelte beiliegende Seil hat zwei Nachteile: 1. Es ist zu dünn, als dass man es vernünftig spannen könnte. 2. Wenn man darauf Gardinenhaken aufhängen will, rutschen sie nicht, diese müssen direkt auf Draht liegen, damit man auf-zu-auf-zu ziehen kann. Für mich also ein Bestandteil, der unnötig ist. Dennoch war es eines der preiswerten Angebote, um an Spannhaken, Schlaufen und Klemmen zu kommen.
