Well fashioned
As a so called flour sack towel these towels have substance to them. They hold up well and are well made and sewn. I have tried a few brands and I hope to buy more of these.

Works as a flour sack towel should
Very serviceable item. it does dry dishes and cabinets after they've been through the laundry a few times. They are big, thick and the hanging loop is helpful. I can't attest to whether they would be good for embroidered gifting. They seem too thick for embroidery. For the unfortunate, there were supposed to have been 12 towels, mine only had 11. I saw some reviews that said they were short one or two. So I checked mine. It soured my opinion somewhat and was the reason for the lackluster rating. If them cheating you out of a towel or two bothers you, I advise looking elsewhere.

Good purchase
I bought these towels to try to cut down on paper towel use in the kitchen. Mostly what I use them for is to dry fresh produce after washing, but sometimes I will use one to dry dishes. They seem to be durable, but I haven’t had them for long. They are not perfectly square, as other reviewers have noted, but for my purposes that is fine. I had thought I might use them as potholders as well, but they are a bit thin to take things out of the oven- you have to fold the towel several times to get enough fabric between you and the hot dish and they are larger than I anticipated so the extra fabric can get in the way. They are useful to set hot dishes on if you fold them, though. They are white, so I am expecting them to eventually get some stains, especially if they are used to clean up spills. I’m guessing either bleach or OxiClean will take care of it, though. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. I think I even say so to my husband every time I use one 😂

On the fence...
These were neither symmetrical nor were they the quality I was expecting. I wanted to get tea towels to hand embroider, but they were not up to par with something I want to spend hours/days stitching and then have come apart on me. There were several with runs in them and many more that had bits of colored string woven in, making it look like they had been marked up with a pen or marker. However, I'm not one to waste or throw something away if I can still use it. They may not have met the standards I was looking for for hand embroidery, but they did work up beautifully with tie-dying into napkins. Some took dye better than others, so there's a few that ended up faded, but that doesn't necessarily reflect the fabric themselves. These are good an absorbent and nice and soft. Perfect for finger food or messing eating (as some cloths just wipe stuff around). Overall, I'm glad I found a use for them, but I'm not entirely sure if I'd buy them again. Maybe. But like I said in the title/headline, I'm on the fence. I just don't recommend for labors of love. Otherwise, they are a pretty great towel/napkin! Overall, 3.7/5 stars (rounded up to 4).

Excellent quality for a good price.
Excellent for embroidery. Tight weave, not gauzy and thin. Very square. Even hemming. I will use a gift’s after embroidering them. I will purchase more.
