TheraBulb's 150 Watt Infrared Silicone Coated Safety Bulb provides an effective alternative to our 250 watt bulb with reduction in wattage used, reduced levels of heat while emitting a large amount of light in the infrared healing wavelengths 700 - 1200 nanometers. The bulb has been dipped in high heat silicone to provide a level of protection from shattering. With use it is possible for some bulbs to have some pealing of the silicone from the bulb however this does not effect the performance of the bulb The TheraBulb 150 watt bulb is a premium incandescent infrared bulb that has been designed to deliver a therapeutic level of infrared light. In addition to the bulb also produces warmth providing further therapeutic benefit. Please note that the surface of your TheraBulb may show minor cosmetic blemishes on the coating on the bulb including; small dimples, bubbles, areas of heavier or lighter coating, spots of darker or lighter color and minor marks on the bulb. TheraBulb uses a thicker than typical coating on the outside surface that is both reflective and protective of the glass resulting in a bulb that more efficiently directs the release of infrared light safely through the top of the bulb. These marks may be more apparent when the bulb is on, but in no way negatively impact the performance or life of the bulb. Operating Instructions and Precautions for use and care of the bulb are delivered electronically immediately upon purchase. A printed copy is included with each Therabulb

Does what it claims, and delivered on time.
Good performance - relieves temporary joint soreness after weight training, and might enhance hypertrophy if used before training. That will be my next test.

Burnt out FAST!
I LOVED this light bulb but it burned out SUPER FAST! Faster than any other NIR bulb I've ever owned and I've owned a more than a few by now. I think this particular bulb must be extremely fragile or something because it worked great and I used it every day for 15 mins for about 2 months and then suddenly it just burned out for no reason I could see.It could definitely be that I just got a bad one; I don't know, because they weren't selling the 150 watt bulb for a long time after that so I never got to order another one. I would probably buy another one of these if they were selling and I needed one. What I LOVE about this bulb is that it's lower wattage so you can put it closer to your face without getting burned. You can supposedly use it longer too, but since you can put it closer you don't actually need to use it longer. When it comes to red NIR bulbs the closer you can stand the better, but if you're using it on your face you really shouldn't have it too close otherwise it'll dry out and possibly damage your skin (you know, by BURNING it), defeating the whole purpose of using it.Anyways the 250 watt ones work alright. I got that one and it works just as well although I ended up switching to Rubylux and prefer that one now. Red light won't work miracles but it definitely does help with texture, tone, circulation and collagen building etc - though the results only last as long as you use it. It also makes you grow lots more baby hairs on your face, which is annoying but ultimately worth it.

Great Way to Help Reduce Pain
I initially bought this as a heat source for a pet or two, but after reading of all the benefits I could potentially get from using it on myself, it has now become my infrared friend. I have a chronic illness that causes a lot of long muscle aches and pains; 15 minutes under this bulb and the easing of pain is similar to the results of using my TENS machine. Plus, I appreciate the safety aspects of a silicone coated bulb. It's an inexpensive, efficient method of easing pain...plus all the other benefits of NIR.
