Works well- needed revision
My piece is a 12" diameter and 3" tall bowl Springs are snug (for now). The back hook wad so snug that i wasn't able to fit the included hanging hook ( kind of dinky anyhow, so i replaced it) and had to add a wire ( see pic). Tines/hooks on front are a little longer than they need to be (see pic) and kind of obstructive and unsightly. But, piece IS hanging and seems secure

Hook/Fastener are not the best
This has some great features, like plastic coated ends so that it will not damage the plate, but as some others have said in their reviews the hook on the back of the plate that hooks to the fastener in the wall aren't quite right. I think the fastener is a little small and thus when you hook the plate to the wall, the plate sticks out at the bottom. We used another fastener into the wall, a larger one, and then it hooked ok and was flat to the wall. The plate that we were holding as 11" and that all worked well and fit well to the plate. Our plate was not heavy -- the small fastener that they provided would not work for a heavier plate, but would require going to the hardware store for a larger wall hanger hook, similar to what you use for a picture frame. Hope that makes sense.

DO NOT EXPECT TO RECIEVE MOUNTING HARDWARE!!!
As others have written, this item DOES NOT include mounting hardware!! That is not such a big deal for me, but I do think it's odd that so many have written about it in their reviews and no one has removed that promise from the ad. I know I should probably return it for this reason, but as another reviewer said, I'm tired of shopping for a plate hanger and ready to have my plate hanging on my wall instead of sitting on my desk. There are other issues as well. My plate is ever-so-slightly bigger than 10 inches, but heavy enough that when I hang it, the plate stretches the hanger out too much, which leaves a big gap between the top rim of my plate and the actual hanger. It makes me worry that the plate might eventually slide out to the side and crash to the floor, but the rubber on the prongs does offer some solace. Another reviewer said that this was fixed by cutting off some of the spring and re-attaching it. I'm not happy about having to make this adjustment (because I am not a plate-hanger maker or I would have just made one myself to begin with), but I'll give it a try.The only other thing I need to gripe about while I'm at it is that the prongs that go over the front of the plate are pretty big. My plate is a lovely piece of china with a blue and white design around the rim. The center of the plate is plain white. These prongs kind of take away from the beauty of the plate by covering a larger-than-I-would-have-liked area of the rim. The rim is about 2 inches thick, and the prongs extend about 2 inches. Perhaps some day in the future I'll come across a plate hanger that does not obstruct the rim so much.In the meantime, the hanger does hang the plate. If that is all you are looking for, then you'll be happy!

Good for light-medium weight trays
Storage in our kitchen is minimal - so we decided to hang the platters on the wall. I bought this hanger as a test. This hanger fits our pewter-ware turkey platter well and is fairly sturdy (since we only use this platter once in a while, I do not foresee the hanger getting a lot of wear-and-tear). The W shaped wire is the thickness of a stout coat-hanger. It is made out of brass (or brass-colored pot-metal). It can be "eased" into bending - but it takes about 15-20 lbs of pressure to bend it. The springs are also non-steel and I don't know how well they would hold up under rigorous use... so for anything really heavy OR something you are going to be taking off the wall often ... spend $5 more and get a steel version. There isn't any accessories for wall mounting included (which was fine with me as I wanted to use wall mounts I know are appropriate for the weight of the platter). I do, however, like the plastic-tipped ends on the front-facing side of the hanger.I will definitely be getting a steel hanger for our one -very- heavy tray and am still looking for an 18"-24" for our antique tole-work monstrosity! I will also be ordering a couple more of these as they work very well for medium to light-weight trays.

Good quality hanger but useless mounting hook
I have a very heavy 16" diameter plate that I bought this for and it worked well. The brackets that clip onto the plate were very heavy duty, which I liked better than another style hanger I used on a different platter. The hanger grips tightly and there is no excess stretching of the springs as some reviewers mentioned. It all seems very strong and secure. The only issue I had is with the ridiculous nail and hook that are included with this unit. They are both extremely tiny and would never work with a large heavy plate that this hanger is designed for. The nail would have pulled out of the wall and the tiny hook would never reach to the bracket that holds the plate. Fortunately I already had a long screw hook from the center support for a curtain rod that worked perfectly and is screwed into a wall stud for extra strength. Overall, though, good product.

Better Houseware, Platter & Tray Hanger
I needed plate hangers to accommodate 14'' trays. I read a variety of reviews about different plate holders. Most reviews were awful. Then, I found a company called, Better Houseware. It carries Platter & Tray Hangers. I purchased 4. Each: fits platters & trays 10 to 16'', has cushioned plastic covered gripper hooks that protect the platter/tray from being scratched & mounting hardware. The reviews were positive EXCEPT about the mounting hardware.I agree. The mounting hardware appeared flimsy. My concern was that the trays would fall off the wall. I substituted different nails Each accommodates 10 lbs. of weight. My trays are secure.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company & its platter/tray hangers. Note: there are a variety of sizes.I DO NOT recommend using the mounting hardware that is included.

Worked as hoped.
On a plate, it worked fine. For a platter, I had to bend the arms forward so that it would go to the edges of the platter and still hang flush against the wall. But that is doable. I have a 12.5 inch plate on one of them and a 13.5 inch platter on the other.

Strong enough for the job...
Arrived in no time at all. Great quality. Heavy duty and sturdy enough for the 2 bowls I had to display. The largest bowl must weigh in excessive of 8 or so lbs and this hanger is handling the job when 2 others would not. They are both sturdy and secure with no swing or movement. Very happy to have found the right one to handle it....recommended!

I am told plates shouldn't be hung with these but ...
I am told plates shouldn't be hung with these but it was hard to find anything else to hang my heavy 16" commemoration platter. This did the job perfectly. My only negative point is that the ends of the hooks that are visible could have finished a little better

Needed to bend product for it to work. Worked well after though
This works okay, my boyfriend had to bend it a little so that it would sit on the wall but once he did that the product worked.

It is not a holder to hold a fine porcelain plate.
Nothing to write home about. It is not spmething that should hold a nice porcelain plate. I had an accident of my own doing and my precious plate broke.
