I was a little reluctant to order this unit as the description has it written as rustic brown & white - the metal frame is definitely black (as pictured) The timber trays are a soft timber and a light brown colour, the timber is not sealed. You have to assemble the unit yourself, which was not hard but I needed an extra set of hands so I could screw in the trays so they straight once assembled as they are not perfectly square. A bit of force by the other set of hands to hold the tray in alignment while I placed the screw evened this up a bit. Once completed it's a nice looking unit, lightweight and a good enough size to store my small tea/coffee/sugar canisters etc.I think it is overpriced given it arrives unassembled, and its just a cheap softwood. If you can live with this fact then you will be happy with the unit.

This is quite possibly one of my least favorite purchases I have made recently. It is made of SOFT, unfinished wood, which wouldn't be completely awful (as it has the potential to be cute), but there are not even pilot holes or anything when mounting the legs. So you have to make sure you line up the metal pieces, and hope it does not shift or split while trying to mount the screws into it.

If you’re comfortable with a screwdriver and nails then this is cake for you. No, it doesn’t come with predrilled holes. But, the wood is soft and giving enough that the nails go in easily once you get a comfortable grip and apply enough pressure.This also gives you the option to tailor the height of your shelves to your liking. I made sure to screw the metal sides as close to the bottom of the shelves as possible to give the most space in between.

No pre drill holes, no markers as to where to holes should go. Everything is eyeballed. I ordered 2 of these. Had I known....definitely wouldn't have payed what I payed. NOT worth it.

Cheaply made and does not come assembled. I did not realize how many pieces this small set of shelves Would have. Appears more decorative than for functionality. I put it together but it would’ve been much cheaper to buy a premade one from Walmart.
