ABUSKG 20072 Padlock, Gray, 80 mm

Have been using this to secure a 20ft shipping container for 2 months now. It would be very difficult to break past this in the main container lock housing unless you were very determined and had heavy duty cutting or drilling tools. So, I’m pleased with that. The mechanism works nicely and, compared to a similar Abus lock I own, crucially the key access is on the bottom of the lock which is critical for a shipping container’s lock housing. Note that the bolt isn’t sprung loaded so when you unlock it you usually have to pull the bolt to retract it.My only criticism is that to secure the lock inside the housing, I have to tuck the lock into a fairly specific position inside the container’s housing. Once I’d worked it out, it’s a doddle and it feels very secure. This might be a nuance of the container but a bigger lock might not have fitted.I’m pleased with the quality of the two Abus locks I have. This one is better and feels more secure than the Totalium model I have.

Bought a number of these over time for various gates, superb lock, only time I’ve had to replace one is when my son snapped the key in it, other than that they are bulletproof

This is a great padlock, nice and compact but very strong. It opens and locks easily, and the pin fully retracts and is retained even when unlocked. The wide throat makes this useful for a whole host of jobs. Great lock, handy size and very secure
