Barriers imposed by culture, pressure from society and restraints of tradition influence what is acceptable on couples no marker what their ethnicity, domination, gender or orientation.This is a moving story that encapsulates the meaning of being a couple, linked together through their struggles faced and having the strength to persevere and survive many obstacles. I really enjoyed reading this very well written book and highly recommend it. A fantastic read.

Poignant story of what might well be a true life situation in modern China. The author knows his topic well, and has the capacity to seamlessly blend his characters with a story that moves quickly and always offers something different. Some beautiful passages. Worthy read.
