New battery packs rattle in this tool.
My only gripe with this tool is that newest generation Bosch battery packs do not seat perfectly in this tool. They click in, and power the tool just fine, but they rattle loudly when the tool is in use. I reserve a couple of my older generation 4AH packs for use with it. The older generation battery packs fit perfectly and do not rattle. Other than that, this is an excellent cordless OMT. It has a slightly smaller arc of oscillation than corded OMTs like the Fein, but that is actually an advantage in many situations. The smaller arc makes for smoother action, albeit a slightly slower cut. In a lot of situations this gives you more control and less jumpiness in some materials. This tool is much nicer than the comparable cordless OMTs from other brands. The only one nicer than the Bosch is probably the Fein. This feels as rugged and smooth as a corded tool!

Amazing tools
I'm a bit of an old dog not too keen on new tricks. I've been a professional woodworker for over 40 years. When I first saw these oscillating tools, I thought they were gimmicky and a bit silly. One of my employees had one out on a job site, and he mentioned how handy they were a few times, and I blew it off. As the day progressed, I saw him use it a half a dozen times, and finally I was in a position where my available tools weren't quite "right" so I said "Darn you! let me borrow your oscillating tool" (ok maybe not in those exact words. I was awakened to its versatility. My only complaint is the star lock backing me into a corner of expensive blades, but I've got a dozen Bosch tools, and I didn't want to introduce a new battery system to my tool chest. Other than that, it's a well built heavy duty oscillating tool. And my employee is envious how easy the star lock blades go on and off so I can't complain too much.

Great addition to tool collection!
I was hesitant to buy based on the first and only review, but since I already have the batteries for Bosch I took a chance. I can totally see how the first reviewer had the issues shown. I don't know if there has been a change since that tool was made, but I have had none of those issues. The good:1. This tool performs a job that none of my other saws can. It is not always the best tool, but when it is, it works great. Example - cutting a nut off of a faucet, under a sink, behind the sink. No other tool would have reached it like this one. The nut lost the battle.2. Easy to use. I cut a fiberglass tub up and was able to hold this in one hand and a vacuum in the other greatly minimizing dust.3. Incredibly versitle, I doubt I have scratched the surface on uses yet.The bad (or worth improving)1. The blade that came with it did not last long. I bought additional metal carbide blades which have held up well, keep them cool!2. Blades are expensive. But sometimes its worth it.3. Blades not available locally (Big Box), hopefully will be eventually.Overall I am very pleased. Does eat through batteries, so make sure they are fully charged.

Best Tool I’ve Ever Owned
This is the most useful tool I have ever owned. It’s very reliable and can cut things other tools can’t, in places other tools can’t reach.Absolutely essential!Very well made. Love it!

It's in the details
This is not a coarse weapon, i use it only for detail work close to edges or in tight spaces, works perfectly and as for battery life i can't compare it to any other 18v tool, cause why would I own two? Good enough for me and i get about 30-40 of cutting spruce with a6mah battery. Looks great and fits the storage system perfectly. Carbide blades will cost you though, and you want those.

Great tool as usual from Bosch
I really like the Startlock system. Takes 5 seconds to remove and replace a blade. I've used other oscillating tools and replacing blades without StarLock is tedious. This uses the same battery as my drill and impact. I've used it to cut nails, wood, and PVC pipe. Cuts all of it like butter, but the metal blades do wear out quickly. It also doesn't seem to use the battery very quickly. As always I highly recommend Bosch tools and this tool is no exception. Works like it should and gets the job done quickly. I haven't even needed to turn it too full speed. I had zero hesitation in buying this and I'm pleased with the purchase
