It just works and works well!
I spent an embarrassingly long time reviewing speakerphones. I looked at the Yamaha YVC-200 (a little dated and much older Bluetooth spec), the Jabra Speak 710 and 750 (older Bluetooth specs and expensive), Initially I ordered the EPOS 30 plus. The EPOS wasn't too bad and it came with a dongle for the price. It had an excellent speaker for music and other sound, and it could get really loud without distorting. However, I had several weird connectivity issues on my work computer (enterprise computers). In addition, folks said I sounded ok, nothing great. As far as the EPOS 30 Plus speaker capabilities, that was nice but, in the end, I wasn't looking for a Bluetooth speaker or a computer speaker. Instead, I realized I needed to be laser-beam focused on the purpose I actually needed a speakerphone: For good mics so I could be heard clearly on the other end of a Zoom call. Enter the Beyerdynamic Space. This thing is brand new on the market, equipped with newer Bluetooth specs (I believe 5.1 or something). I didn't love that I would be losing the dongle option, but once I got the Beyerdynamic Space I really did not care about the dongle at all. It just worked flawlessly, connecting seemlessly to my phone and working without any issues when connected to my work computer with the provided wire (which is not weirdly attached to the device as with the EPOS 30 and Jabras -- that's a bit strange to me). In short, I am VERY happy with my purchase as I feel that my colleagues now hear me well (and say so) and I don't have any weird glitches that probably flow from the fact the Beyerdynamic Space is new, with updated specs. It looks and feels high quality and modern and looks great in any workspace (I get really positive comments after only a few weeks of having it). In addition, it includes very intuitive "capacitance" buttons. I highly recommend you pick one up if you are looking for a quality personal speakerphone. BTW, it's really portable and the bag that comes with it is surprisingly durable and closes nicely with a unique closing mechanism you don't normally see but it works well. Please know that I am just a regular customer (that pretty much tortures himself by reading any and all reviews available before making a purchase). Happy speakerphone hunting!I am updating my review (one year later). While I have enjoyed it and continue to stand by my original review, I do want to add that today (sadly) it fell off my desk and the usb-c port no longer works… Super sad. I can still use it until the battery dies but, after that, it will be inoperable as I won’t be able to charge it using the one charging port. I should also add, that although the sound is excellent, it doesn’t get very loud (which sometimes caused issues).

Excellent personal speakerphone
I have a home office and wanted a speakerphone. Using my iPhone as a speakerphone has its limits. I've been unhappy with my results of trying to use Bluetooth speakers (Bose Revolve + and Apple Homepod minis) as speakerphones, even though they have that capability. None worked seamlessly, unlike the Beyerdynamic SPACE, which is a dedicated device.I read many reviews and went with the Beyerdynamic SPACE on the strength of the reviews. Beyerdynamic advertised this as a "personal" device, which was another reason I got it. It's for my use. Most reviewers gave it high marks as a speakerphone, and they were right. The caller's voice is so loud and crisp that it feels like we are in the same room. I also wanted to lean back in my chair and not sound like I was on speakerphone to the caller. I tested this out with a friend, and she could not tell the difference. I've used it a solid week, and the Bluetooth connection has never dropped. It's easy to set up.I didn't buy this for music playing, but it doesn't seem very loud for it. My iPhone 12 shows it is connected to headphones when playing music, which seems odd. I turned off the headphone safety limiter in the iPhone, which boosted the music volume a bit. However, the music's sound quality is excellent, clear, and crisp. It seems like it's an ideal device to take on trips. It looks very well built, comes with a protective pouch, and easily fits in a backpack. In sum, I am happy with this purchase. It does what I wanted it to do: significantly raise the quality of the speakerphone experience and maintain persistent connections. I can answer a call by touching the speakerphone's phone handle. All the controls you need are on the speakerphone. The LED lighting system tells you exactly what the status of the system is. Battery life is really long. I charge it using a USB connection to my iMac. It works while charging.
