Bought it to try Dex on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9
I bought this hub to try out Dex on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I was excited to try it out. As soon as I got the notification that I had received the hub, I plugged the HDMI cable into my PC monitor and plugged in the hub and into my phone! And all I saw was my phone screen mirrored onto my monitor. I was very disappointed. After a little googling, I found that it was basically hit or miss with getting Dex to launch with hubs in general (other than the Samsung Dex Station). I was about to give up but then stumbled upon somebody's post that with some hubs, you have to supply power. I knew that there was a female USB C port on this hub, but I wasn't 100% sure what it was for because the manual was not written clearly. I couldn't determine if the female port would supply power to a device, or if I needed to plug a power adapter into the female port to supply power to whatever device the male port was plugged into. I decided to test this out on an old Nexus 5 that I had and found that the female port can (should?) be plugged into a power adapter and would supply power via the male port.I plugged my Note 9 into the hub (via male port) and had power via the female port (with power adapter) and the HDMI port connected to my PC monitor and....... Dex launched!I honestly can't say whether everybody would have the same success that I had since a lot of the posts I read demonstrated varying degrees of success, but I was able to get it to work.Good luck!

Worrying results with 15" Macbook Pro
I plugged this adapter into my 2019 MacBook Pro for the first time while a YouTube video was playing and, strangely, the audio cut out. Even though nothing was plugged into the adapter itself, my Mac was fooled into thinking there was an external monitor present - mysteriously named “EPDP17.1127”, and the Mac asked (via the touchbar) if I wanted to mirror video/audio to the “new” device.Again, nothing was plugged in to the adapter itself, and even telling the Mac to ignore this phantom device resulted in the audio signal going mute on the Mac’s speakers. I had to open system preferences and re-select the internal speakers for audio to be able to hear any video playback again. Unplugging the adapter also allowed the Mac to (eventually) figure out that it should re-route audio to the system speakers. This wasn’t a one-time fluke. I did this at least 4 times to be sure the behavior was consistent and repeatable, and each time it was.For comparison, I took a USB-C to HDMI/USB 3.0/USB-C made by Apple (which I had from work) and plugged it in with nothing attached to it. The Mac just ignored the adapter as you would expect it to, since nothing is attached to it.Maybe the adapter works fine when something is actually plugged in to it, but I don’t care: side effects like this suggest defective hardware or firmware, so I’m returning it. I certainly won’t put up with having to open system preferences and reset audio every time my family plugs this thing in.Would love to know if anyone else who bought this has seen the mysterious EPDP17.112 monitor show up when using it.

Good for the price, but mine has a defective connection
Product has plenty of ports for my needs. Pretty good quality for the price, with solid construction, especially with other USB-C dongles selling for sometimes much more. However, there are some issues with it. There is a lack of a SD card slot, but that is a minor issue because my HP Spectre x360 has an SD card slot already. Just one thing to consider when buying this. I have noticed that the unit gets hot, but the heat isn't too bad, not as hot as my laptop would get. Mine is slightly defective in that when plugging in an HDMI cord, it doesnt work right away until you jiggle the dongles connection into the USB-C device. But once it's connected, it works perfectly.

Absolutely plug n plug
This product works directly out of the box. I connected samsung galaxy 8 to a 2007 Samsung tv with hdmi and the setting was to hdmi (not game mode). Voila! It mirrored and rotated screen to fit the entire tv width. I am impressed.I order 2 others previously and had to return. One of them required some app download - absolutely did not work. The only problem is that it does not charge the galaxy 8 during connection to the tv. On advertisement it says it will provide charging. I have not a clue.

Disappointing delivery but good product
First: The product that I received had clearly been opened and even used before. The packing seal had been broken, the bottle of oil was missing, and worst of all the blade itself appeared to be smeared/used and even a little rusty. That being said, my first impressions of the product were very poor.I almost returned it on the spot, but I decided to clean it up and give it a shot. Once I used the actual product, I was overall pleased with the result. It performs as advertised. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of packing everything and mailing it back for a return - something they were probably counting on - so I've kept it.This seller and/or Amazon really needs to do better with their quality assurance. It was very disappointing to open a product I expected to be new in this state. Buyer beware.

Fairly good device, no oil bottle
I used it now for the first time and it cuts-trims the beard hair well. The only issue I have is that it did not come with an oil bottle in the package, despite being advertised and mentioned in the instructions with an oil bottle.
