Handy to have for just hatched
Works great! Easy to put together with the step by step instructions enclosed. I am using it as a just hatched brooder for my flock. Stays warm. The temperature gauge is actually for humidity but not really a problem as I can judge it by the chicks closeness to the bulb. Two bulbs enclosed along with two food dishes and a water container.Easy to clean surface that is very slick so I use a folded hand towel.

Small but works well for the first 2 weeks.
It is great to get chicks started. First couple weeks. It is really easy to set up and keep the right temp right under the lamp. First 2 weeks are critical for chick survival and this little box helps a lot to keep them warm. This lamp also only eats about 60 watts so it is very efficient and safer to use than the other style heat lamp.It is a very small brooder. It will not fit 10+ chicks. I only had 3 in it and after 2 weeks they needed more space. Itll work, but might cause stress to the chicks. Commercial brooders are a lot worse.I use it to quarantine older chicks if needed.

There is no exact heat control!
This is a great box, but I cannot get it to keep a constant set temperature and it’s aggravating. It’s easy to put together, and easy to clean. If anyone is having issues with the light, use the two extra bolts that come with nuts to secure the light instead of the tiny screws, because I didn’t trust those screws, especially after seeing some reviews of the light falling. One bolt for each side, and it holds great. I wish there was an exact temp you could set it to, though. That is rough. The temp was fine up until I went to check the chicks an hour later and they were overheating, and the dial wasn’t even all the way up!Side note, my incubator gave out; so as a last ditch effort, I used this over the weekend to keep my eggs warm, and the eggs are still going strong! Replacement incubator came, but I’m thrilled to know it can be used for a back up (at least for a short time).

Weak bulbs. No PLC. Terrible instructions.
I built the thing and used it. The instructions were poorly compiled and printed with fading ink to the point where it was difficult to tell pieces apart. This isn't exactly a quantum computer so I didn't really need the instructions but the effort put into the "manual" are laughably poor. The included bulbs are pretty low power. I could not achieve 115 F with the assembly and that is unfortunate. I can probably put in an incandescent bulb but I don't know whether that will burn out the controller. Furthermore, the "controller" is by no means automatic; it's fiddly and requires manual adjustment. Given that the thermal drift with no fan could be significant, over or underheating is possible. Given how weak the bulb is, the overheating is probably no danger but that's a... um... cold comfort. For a 60 dollar thing with ALL assembly required I would have expected at least a PLC controller and a fan to equilibrate the temperature. Some humidity control would have been nice. Instead, I got 5 bucks worth of OK-fitting parts and maybe a 3 dollar bulb. Not expensive per se but still overpriced.

Cheap and incorrectly made
Cheaply made. I received the light and the instructions were very vague and not helpful at all. However, the product itself came incorrectly made in order for the light to be installed per the directions. This was sad because I had to find another solution quickly as I was picking up my chicks within days.

Really small and hard to regulate temp
This thing is small, really small. We had six eggs set but only three chicks hatch and thankfully just the three, by day 4 I moved them out because there just wasn’t enough room for them. One of them is even a small silkie chick. The temperature regulation has also been a major struggle. The thermometer on the front is hard to read and inaccurate anyway. I used a Govee WiFi thermometer to help but it was still a constant battle of turning the light up and down all day and night. I wanted to just turn the light off and put in a heat plate instead but the box is way too small for even my small heat plate that only four to six chicks fit under comfortably. I got this on sale and I’m glad I did, it wasn’t worth what I paid and I would’ve been even more annoyed if I had paid more for it. It might be useful to use to isolate a single chick or two but it won’t be useful to put more than that for more than a few days.It was easy enough to put together. It’s easy to clean. It does function as far as turning on and off. The little water container is ok and the chicks use it but it’s also too small to use for more than a week or so. The feed bowl works fine but my chicks have preferred to go all the way into it and sometimes sleep in it.
