Re schooling a middle aged horse that was ridden in s twisted wire snaffle
I purchased a middle age horse that was ridden by inexperienced riders using a twisted wire snaffle. I learned that he was trained by an experienced trainer before the person I bought him from, took possession of him. He responded to leg cues, with spurs, and would get very nervous with the slightest mouth cue. When I bought him, he had bit issues, to say the least! He got very worked up when under saddle.I needed clear communication that didn't require complicated mechanisms and that wasn't severe to his mouth. This level Myler bit fit what I was looking for.It wasn't a magic quick fix. I put him back to ground training, developed trust, respect and gentile responsiveness first. Then began earning trust and respect in the saddle. It took about 2 weeks, after introducing this bit, to get him to relax and focus enough to trust that it would not suddenly hurt him.For those of you who would question why I didn't use a hackamore... he has pretty severe scar tissue where a halter had grown into his head and nose.Love this bit, it is working well for me and my boy. Please remember that a bit is only as good as the person holding the reign.

Sizing
I liked the product but had to return it as the 4 3/4" was too large for my Welsh Pony. She needed a 4 1/2" which was not available. She is currently in a 4 3/4" Glory Butterfly bit which fits perfect. Unfortunately, I wanted to use a bit that was more flexible and this bit would have fit the bill if the sizing/fit was the same as the Glory bit Was very disappointed as I looked forward to using this Myler bit.

Runs Big
Appeared to be a very nice, well made bit. I ordered a 5.5” for my Spotted Draft and it was huge! Measured over 6” (used two different measuring tapes because I thought I was nuts lol). I would recommend ordering down a size. Returning the 5.5” for a 5”.

Mare very happy
My mare has a thick tongue and lips, finally a bit she is happy with. 5” too narrow 5 1/2 too wide but she is happy so I’m keeping it.

LOVE Myler bits!
Myler products are AWESOME!!! IF you notice any rust with certain bits from this company, that is how they are designed so that it increases the horse's salivation, similar to us chewing gum to help wet our mouth! Love, love, love Myler's designs and comfort for horses

Great for a hard to turn horse
Wow outstanding. This bit gives me the leverage I need. My horse is strong willed & very hard to turn. With this bit, I put my leg on & shake my wrist. He turns. No pulling on his mouth.

Thank You!!
A truely amazing bit. Needed a transitional and this bit has far exceeding my expectations. As well as the most important, my horse loves it.
