Product Description A tale of decadence set in a lavish, dark, post apocalyptic world where vampires are named for Greek Gods and witches rule everything. About the Actor Domiziano Arcangeli is an Italian American actor, producer and writer best known for low-budget independent, and particularly exploitation, films. Having worked as a model and stage actor and played small parts in Liliana Cavani's Francesco (1989), Tinto Brass's Paprika (1991), Stelvio Massi's L'urlo della verità (1992) and Enzo Papetti's Beniamino Gad - Alle soglie dell'incubo (1994), Arcangeli relocated from Italy to the United States and was cast in Zalman King's TV series ChromiumBlue.com (2002-2003). I have to admit I went in not expecting much out this movie considering its vampire flightFor a plat it was ok not as tight as it should have been, But over not a bad movie plenty of eye candy to make up for the lack ofof a weak script over all I give it a generous 3 stars

Couple of the guys from "The Lair" are here with us again and oh yeah.. they are vampires again. It kinda leaves you wondering but all in all for the whole gay, straight, bisexual thing its all campy cheesy bad effects goodness and yeah still a few pieces of hotness around to look at as well.

Finally, this long announced,"Salo meets Caligula" of all Vampire's romances, is now out!And, i got my copy right away: you bet!"The Brides of Sodom" (the title per se is telling!) does not pretend to be a masterpiece, nor a great Horror film,which is not, but, delivers all the goods and the fun.From the slick cinematography,the unusual,ambient music score, by great Shawn K.Clement, an inventive art direction where the never predictable sets and costumes stand out, to a cast, let's admit it, an ensemble of beauty and eccentric characters, that would be enough to excite and pull in, both, some average,bored, suburban couple, married perhaps over 25 years, as well as,on the opposite side,also,that usually jaded, but trend setting, gay or alternative crowd, a definitely much pickier slice of the larger and harder main audience for a movie like this, today, since often composed by folks who have seen them all, already twice, at least!But, "The Brides of Sodom" should hardly disappoint on these premises!Those interested,in fact, would find in this movie, a true feast of Camp, creatively put together by a savvy casting, which so cleverly mixes a real A list of eye candy, with an ensemble of very different, but, always sexy and beguiling diverse presences,teasing to no end, any personal taste you may wanna go for!And, then, shall just start from the 2 leading men: the protagonist, who's International cult star, made for the occasion, wearing golden blond long waves of hair, and, adorned and made up to appear, as radiant as an archangel, the always surprising, Domiziano Arcangeli: and, although, i must say, i honestly found him, almost seriously bored with the picture, here, or presumably, just embarrassed, either with the project, or maybe with his role,overall, he still looks extremely sexy,and, watchable by both women and men, while, at the very end, managing to deliver some sort of a 'natural'and unique presence, without ever caring or bothering to even raise one eyebrow! I indeed often spotted him, as if he was going through the motions, almost like he was thinking, about a bunch of all other, different things, and, that's too bad, considering that the actor can give extremely intense performances, when in more challenging themes.His co-star felt, instead, way more carefully engaged, trying hard (and, at times, even, a whole tad, too hard) to act, while,at the same time, showing off his insanely attractive Charisma (excuse me, but, cannot help myself!): his hunky build,the attractive face, truly do make for the likes of a Greek God! David Taylor's got indeed the face of an angel, with his delicate features, such as, a deliciously ripe mouth, and, his deep, blue bedroom eyes, perfectly matching that mainly, muscular, and, even beastly,at times, warrior's body! Enough said? Hope so!Well, these 2 may not be bothering too much with the acting, in this piece,at least, but, let me tell you, they do make for one of the sexiest, bi sexual vampire's couples, I have ever seen, or even ever imagined, for that matter, and, certainly, their smart director, exploitation Guru, Creep Creepersin, who also wrote the extremely convoluted script, does not miss indeed a chance to find (and seek)all the right occasions to showcase Taylor grabbing Arcangeli, from the bottom up, to quickly end up, after even some "romantic making out" placed merely as Hors d'Oeuvres, to get to the point, where the 2 leads need (literally) to desperately get a rid of the very little, skimpy clothing (they are "wearing" throughout the movie), to get free of any obstacle or conventions, showing with exuberance, all the skin they could bare, or, maybe, I should say, just all the skin, some of those "lucky" cameramen could possibly fit in, and, capture, in one single shot!They actually do resuscitate together, all of those most unspeakable fantasies, that every gay man might have had, at some point,in his life, or just might have, for the rest of his existence, but, always tried to hide!There's, for example, a very convincing scene, to start with, i must say, where Arcangeli is languidly panting, chained up to perfection, in one of the dungeon's of the Imperial Palace: after having been almost raped by Skinemax's star, Beverly Lynne (playing with gusto a dominatrix, all dressed up to the gore), gets even questioned by two of the biggest bust-ed starlets,and, temptresses, any other B Horror movie could only dream to fancy, while, the poor thing has now even got to face the brutality of Eros (Taylor), former lover and Lord's, Emperor Dionysus (a very funny, but, way over the top, Dylan Vox, this time playing the villain), while also getting acquainted, at the same time, with all of his personal soldiers and "guards", known as, the "Satroi" (you think some of the hottest males, super models, or/and, adult performers, all photographed, "dressed" in, either leather's under garments, reminding me of thongs, or just, in plain full frontal nudity, truly referencing to the style of the 1980's Tinto Brass masterpiece "Caligula")! But, even this more dramatic scene, was there mostly serving the purpose, to explain the bizarre (to say honestly the least!) relationships flowering and perpetuating in this Empire of Vamps,'cause we do finally get to the centerpiece, and, sort of,from now on, recurring leitmotif: that would be a scene between our 2 leading men, that i felt like almost one of the most heavily sexual gay scenes, ever featured, in a non pornographic movie (True Blood: watch and learn!), so realistically performed, and, sexually explicit, i even found myself - i shall admit it!- blushing heavily, more than once, yet, completely unable, or better,frankly unavailable, if you'd rather, to take my eyes off of the screen for a split second: had to keep staring at those 2 incredible guys, and, with some really surprising feelings of envy, something (i gotta give kudos to this movie!)i had never even experienced before, when watching any type of film, including gay films,of course!Now, i am not telling about the complex, and, often, very contrived plot, 'cause i think it would be useless, and, possibly confusing, while, something i would not wanna give away, either!I think that you mainly just need to know that, in between moments, filled with unashamed and pure gore galore, or others, featuring such a sexy, disarming, and, rich ensemble of Goth, S/M, and, extremely blood&sex thirsty punk Vampires, who may be reminding us, a little, of some of those filthiest, and, most provocative moments, we all had secretly read, in some Anne Rice's novel, about a decade ago,circa, this movie is, over all, most notable, for its atmospheres, thanks again to a moody, mostly dark, and, heavily saturated, often like candle lit type of cinematography, and, for its "Caligula" look-a-like sets (without that 'budget' of course!), later intersecting, with even a whole second sub plot, that will take you actually, in almost opposite looking places, some grittier, post apocalyptic,and, nocturnal exteriors, barely lit by a stalking full moon,and populated by blood thirsty creatures of any kind and species, ravaged humans left over's, a new scenario that, while giving to our 2 main lovers, a place to escape, and, to celebrate some sort of "feral honeymoon", will be also focusing on Eros's incestuous sister, a character, that seems built over the icon of Salome, envisioned here, as a semi lesbian quirky, angry woman, who's foolishly in love with her brother Eros, but, eventually would take to bed even Samuel, the human prey (Arcangeli, if this wasn't clear enough,thus far!), with the hope to save the Empire from the cruelty of the villain, Emperor Dionysus, who's just also embittered by loosing Eros,himself, over the now, ex human Samuel, but, who eventually will get attracted even to the latter, and, betrayed and cheated upon, one more time, too many. In fact, the Princess, who's always pathetically searching for some kind of happiness she can never find (well, are you even surprised?),and, spends her days making love to gorgeous young ingenues, completely naked, a few, lovely girls who are brought to her, by the horny Satroi, to perform extremely dramatic lesbian or orgiastic scenes, before, getting their last "adieu" from the same princess who slashes them one by one, with the fury of her insatiable fangs, always so unhappy, since incapable to make love and control her outstanding brother Eros, now all completely "taken" only by the romantic graces of Samuel! However, one day, the young tormented lady, maybe in an attempt to make something out of her useless life, will decide to trust Samuel, and,along with the help of some bizarre, mysterious witches, the two will orchestrate a plan against the raging and hopelessly cruel dictatorship of the mad Dionysus, with results.. that will change forever what's left of the World.Plot aside,i thought that one of the main elements of pure enjoyment, here remains, i must stress, the incredible looking cast, including the whole supporting cast, as well, and, its composition: there's an obviously way more homoerotic side of it, that is a sort of the most titillating "Who's Who", among the Hollywood's scene of hottest male models,and, B movie's hunks material, in the buff, ever admired (i should cite that we have also in display,here, a few body builder's types, such as, the oversexed muscular and gigantic ripped and furry bodies of regular B movie stars, Jess Allen, and, Joel Hebner,or Brad Potter, all exuding pure 'machismo', or the more glamorized look of gorgeous young models, from the truly handsome Daniel Sobieray, to the studly Jessen Noviello, Chandler Maness, Travis Kraft, Quentin Elias, Shon Lange, and, many more..).But,again, there's also a whole other section, consisting in an impressive assemblage of the loveliest starlets, and, playmates types, either portraying the witches (notorious scream queen Elina Madison is one of them,along with the exotic Ester Canata),and, a myriad of other bit roles, such as, the sultry courtesan played by an hyped and sexy new discovery, named cleverly, Dahlia Dark,surrounded by more beauties of any kind, such as, most notably, Robin Bain, Jacqui Holland, Natalie Loren, and, platinum blonde, Krista Jacobson,but, even many, many more, obviously cast with intuition, to fulfill all the thirst for female's beauty, and, relative female nudity, that even our straight audiences would demand, to delight themselves with! To each,their own! Hey, just, being politically correct, right?Jokes aside, what else of more relevant to say?A great movie? No. A fantastic, and, chilling, suspenseful horror? Not really.This is more of a lavish,"trippy" odyssey into the realm of Erotica,and, alternative lifestyles, with unforgettable male sex scenes, and, a never ending gore fest galore!I personally enjoy all this, i call it a "guilty pleasure", even though, at the end, it is not even that 'guilty' of a pleasure, for me anymore, since, i am completely fine,lately, to admit that i highly enjoy these kind of shows, from time to time!So,I'd say, if you are into a fun, erotic, and/or homoerotic film, and, romp, populated by gorgeous, ambiguous vampires, witches, and by, all over, in every scene, boys and hot ingenues, in the semi nude, if you may get some kink, and, fun times, out of watching the decadence of an imaginary Empire, and, its Fall (it seems, it's all fault,at the end, of actor Peter Stickles, from "Short Bus", and, "The Lair", who plays an almost mute, but, extremely seductive "Book Keeper"), while, at the same time, being amused by some of the most incredible sex relationships ever thought or created, you'll just have a ball with this movie, as much as, i did!If, you were to expect, instead, a serious Horror film, with "historically believable" vampires references, in a more "traditional" genre movie, let's say, like those made by mainstream Studio's,like Screen Gem's, just to make an example, you may not be happy with this one, and, probably, you would turn it off, after the first 20 minutes...Or not! Who knows.. again, after all, times have changed (thankfully!), so, if we refer to this one, just as a sexy film, it might all depend by the mood you, and, your partner(s) may be in, on that night you're watching "The Brides of Sodom"!Cannot lie, actually, but,as a further example, must tell you that i personally have enjoyed a lot more this movie, than those boring, all teased up (and, all the same plainly disappointingly, and, very low on the atmosphere's level) episodes, of something more ordinary, like "True Blood", for instance! At least, here, you really get the goodies, and, it feels all more B, we all do agree on this part, but, also, way more liberated, provocative, and, if far-fetched, at least, always damn original!An interesting combination for me,at least, i must say!

But, even this more dramatic scene, was there mostly serving the purpose, to explain the bizarre (to say honestly the least!) relationships flowering and perpetuating in this Empire of Vamps,'cause we do finally get to the centerpiece, and, sort of,from now on, recurring leitmotif: that would be a scene between our 2 leading men, that i felt like almost one of the most heavily sexual gay scenes, ever featured, in a non pornographic movie (True Blood: watch and learn!), so realistically performed, and, sexually explicit, i even found myself - i shall admit it!- blushing heavily, more than once, yet, completely unable, or better,frankly unavailable, if you'd rather, to take my eyes off of the screen for a split second: had to keep staring at those 2 incredible guys, and, with some really surprising feelings of envy, something (i gotta give kudos to this movie!)i had never even experienced before, when watching any type of film, including gay films,of course!Now, i am not telling about the complex, and, often, very contrived plot, 'cause i think it would be useless, and, possibly confusing, while, something i would not wanna give away, either!I think that you mainly just need to know that, in between moments, filled with unashamed and pure gore galore, or others, featuring such a sexy, disarming, and, rich ensemble of Goth, S/M, and, extremely blood&sex thirsty punk Vampires, who may be reminding us, a little, of some of those filthiest, and, most provocative moments, we all had secretly read, in some Anne Rice's novel, about a decade ago,circa, this movie is, over all, most notable, for its atmospheres, thanks again to a moody, mostly dark, and, heavily saturated, often like candle lit type of cinematography, and, for its \"Caligula\" look-a-like sets (without that 'budget' of course!), later intersecting, with even a whole second sub plot, that will take you actually, in almost opposite looking places, some grittier, post apocalyptic,and, nocturnal exteriors, barely lit by a stalking full moon,and populated by blood thirsty creatures of any kind and species, ravaged humans left over's, a new scenario that, while giving to our 2 main lovers, a place to escape, and, to celebrate some sort of \"feral honeymoon\", will be also focusing on Eros's incestuous sister, a character, that seems built over the icon of Salome, envisioned here, as a semi lesbian quirky, angry woman, who's foolishly in love with her brother Eros, but, eventually would take to bed even Samuel, the human prey (Arcangeli, if this wasn't clear enough,thus far!), with the hope to save the Empire from the cruelty of the villain, Emperor Dionysus, who's just also embittered by loosing Eros,himself, over the now, ex human Samuel, but, who eventually will get attracted even to the latter, and, betrayed and cheated upon, one more time, too many. In fact, the Princess, who's always pathetically searching for some kind of happiness she can never find (well, are you even surprised?),and, spends her days making love to gorgeous young ingenues, completely naked, a few, lovely girls who are brought to her, by the horny Satroi, to perform extremely dramatic lesbian or orgiastic scenes, before, getting their last \"adieu\" from the same princess who slashes them one by one, with the fury of her insatiable fangs, always so unhappy, since incapable to make love and control her outstanding brother Eros, now all completely \"taken\" only by the romantic graces of Samuel! However, one day, the young tormented lady, maybe in an attempt to make something out of her useless life, will decide to trust Samuel, and,along with the help of some bizarre, mysterious witches, the two will orchestrate a plan against the raging and hopelessly cruel dictatorship of the mad Dionysus, with results.. that will change forever what's left of the World.Plot aside,i thought that one of the main elements of pure enjoyment, here remains, i must stress, the incredible looking cast, including the whole supporting cast, as well, and, its composition: there's an obviously way more homoerotic side of it, that is a sort of the most titillating \"Who's Who\", among the Hollywood's scene of hottest male models,and, B movie's hunks material, in the buff, ever admired (i should cite that we have also in display,here, a few body builder's types, such as, the oversexed muscular and gigantic ripped and furry bodies of regular B movie stars, Jess Allen, and, Joel Hebner,or Brad Potter, all exuding pure 'machismo', or the more glamorized look of gorgeous young models, from the truly handsome Daniel Sobieray, to the studly Jessen Noviello, Chandler Maness, Travis Kraft, Quentin Elias, Shon Lange, and, many more..).But,again, there's also a whole other section, consisting in an impressive assemblage of the loveliest starlets, and, playmates types, either portraying the witches (notorious scream queen Elina Madison is one of them,along with the exotic Ester Canata),and, a myriad of other bit roles, such as, the sultry courtesan played by an hyped and sexy new discovery, named cleverly, Dahlia Dark,surrounded by more beauties of any kind, such as, most notably, Robin Bain, Jacqui Holland, Natalie Loren, and, platinum blonde, Krista Jacobson,but, even many, many more, obviously cast with intuition, to fulfill all the thirst for female's beauty, and, relative female nudity, that even our straight audiences would demand, to delight themselves with! To each,their own! Hey, just, being politically correct, right?Jokes aside, what else of more relevant to say?A great movie? No. A fantastic, and, chilling, suspenseful horror? Not really.This is more of a lavish,\"trippy\" odyssey into the realm of Erotica,and, alternative lifestyles, with unforgettable male sex scenes, and, a never ending gore fest galore!I personally enjoy all this, i call it a \"guilty pleasure\", even though, at the end, it is not even that 'guilty' of a pleasure, for me anymore, since, i am completely fine,lately, to admit that i highly enjoy these kind of shows, from time to time!So,I'd say, if you are into a fun, erotic, and/or homoerotic film, and, romp, populated by gorgeous, ambiguous vampires, witches, and by, all over, in every scene, boys and hot ingenues, in the semi nude, if you may get some kink, and, fun times, out of watching the decadence of an imaginary Empire, and, its Fall (it seems, it's all fault,at the end, of actor Peter Stickles, from \"Short Bus\", and, \"The Lair\", who plays an almost mute, but, extremely seductive \"Book Keeper\"), while, at the same time, being amused by some of the most incredible sex relationships ever thought or created, you'll just have a ball with this movie, as much as, i did!If, you were to expect, instead, a serious Horror film, with \"historically believable\" vampires references, in a more \"traditional\" genre movie, let's say, like those made by mainstream Studio's,like Screen Gem's, just to make an example, you may not be happy with this one, and, probably, you would turn it off, after the first 20 minutes...Or not! Who knows.. again, after all, times have changed (thankfully!), so, if we refer to this one, just as a sexy film, it might all depend by the mood you, and, your partner(s) may be in, on that night you're watching \"The Brides of Sodom\"!Cannot lie, actually, but,as a further example, must tell you that i personally have enjoyed a lot more this movie, than those boring, all teased up (and, all the same plainly disappointingly, and, very low on the atmosphere's level) episodes, of something more ordinary, like \"True Blood\", for instance!
