You can. Takes a 20 lb tank, same as your grill.

Q: Does it need 1/2" or 3/4" hose

Depends on the regulator that you get with it because it does not come with a regulator you have to order that separate

The inside dimension of pan is 29.5"X11.8"（750mm X 300mm）. Hope this make sense to you!
