Crescent Lufkin 3/4" x 12' Legacy Series Chrome Case Yellow Clad Tape Measure - L912

I bought this to have a small tape for steel layout work instead of using a big 35 footer. It works great in this task, and goes down to the 32nd the first foot which is useful. It's extremely small and compact and can easily be carried in conjunction with a full size tape. Only problem is the finish isn't particularly durable and started coming off after a week in my tool box. Still, for less than seven dollars, well deserving of five stars, and I'll probably replace it with another one if and when it breaks.

It said this was a ¾" tape with good stand out length but what I recieved was a tape that was ½" wide with a very short stand out.

So o got this to replace my old trusted lufkin that had the numbers worn off. It was my go-to tape measure so I wanted another lufkin. The new one works well but doesn’t seem as solid and well built. Seems placticky.. I hope it holds up but really not that enamored with it. It does work though, just seems cheaply made.

fits nicely in my hand making it easy for me to make my measurements while at my machines in my wood shop. I love it and Lufkin is my favorite tape measure brand and has been for 30 years . got tired of having to replace my Stanley's after you drop it a few times. I own Lufkin's that are 30 years old.

On the first day, I dropped it onto concrete several times. I noticed that the "chrome" chipped to reveal plastic.This is meant to look like the 1980s measurers, but those bad boys would have been made from real stainless steel or perhaps more likely real chrome plated metal.So be advised, you are getting a reproduction made from cheaper materials. This has pros and cons. I enjoy the tape because I like the brand: I have old measures from many years ago, same brand, that my grand-dad owned. I <3 Lufkin.So buy it for the feels, or for vintage love, but be advised what you are getting, that it will not be a everyday use tool for a pro, not even a finish carpenter. I am using it daily, but it won't last long. Still, a nice break from my big 25' and 35' tapes.

Large, bold, easy to read numbers. Lightweight and not bulky. Feels really solid and well-made. Attractive with bright orange stripe running down the middle. Holding lock works well which is a pleasant change from my last tape measure. I would recommend this tape measure.

perfect for my junk drawer!

I always was a fan of Lufkin but disappointed in this model. I like the vintage look and shape but it doesn't fit the hand well, I also felt that the blade was thin and it got a kink in it right away, the end is not easy to grab as not much hook is exposed to get your fingers on.

Nice compact design, smooth spring action, nice bold font on tape. Lufkin brand has been solid to me.

The price was good. I only wanted the tape from it, because it’s almost impossible to find a refill for my old, metal, power tape measures. However, the connection on the end is a different size, and doesn’t fit.

Great small tape measure. Good for short accurate mark ups. Fits in your pocket and easy to have with you all day. If you want something with a larger stand out this is not the product.
