Good Quality, Not an Eco Solution…
These pads are two ply, absorbent, and nicely made. I bought them to remove makeup and sunscreen before washing my face. The problem w/them is twofold: A- the amount of product needed to get the job done vs. a disposable cotton pad, and B- the amount of effort and resources it takes to use them.First, after I use one I put it in a plastic container of water w/a few drops of Dawn dish soap and hydrogen peroxide to soak (I keep it under the sink and add one each time til the container is full or it’s time to do a load of microfiber stuff) but then I have to rinse them AGAIN in a sink of running water a few times or they won’t come all the way clean (I have a highly rated LG front loader washing machine and I use a zip laundry bag to keep them all together). The guilt trip is that we’ve been staying at our house in Tucson since covid hit- only going home to SF for a few weeks here and there so I’m intensely aware of how much water it take to maintain these here in the desert where every drop is precious.Secondly- The sheer amount of extra product it takes to remove my makeup/sunscreen or even Micellar water in the morning. I’m using easily three times the amount I used to and Given the cost of said product and the containers- hard plastic that we know only 9% truly EVER GETS RECYCLED emptied at three times the speed as before- vs just using a small, disposable, biodegradable cotton pad? Well, it’s a no-brainer.I’ve split them into two piles, one for my boyfriends tool closet in the garage, and half for the kitchen/cleaning closet. They’re gonna be good for something, just not my 139.00 serums.

WE feel betterabout not throwing away the cotton
I got these so that my daughters and I could lessen our trash footprint. They work good but they slip as the two sides are only sewn on the outside, they would benifit from a stich in the center. They take off the makeup and dirt fine but they stain. I do not want to wash them in a stain remover and have that residue on them when useing them to clean my face so we are living with the look. Mine are fine, it is the girls that stain becuase they use waterproof makeup. Still worth the decrease in trash.

Absolutely love these!
Love these pads. I can use them as much as I like since they are washable and no waste. They work incredibly well for me. I use them to wash my face as well as when I just use Micellar water. On a side note, I love Micellar water when I don't want water running down to my elbows and having to dry my face and arms.

Replaced throw away - easy to clean
Use these to replace cotton rounds. Use them for toner & miccellear water to remove make up and tone my face. I throw them in with my towels when doing laundry and the make up/residue comes out with no stains. So far they are holding up in the wash. Know that it’s not as absorbent as cotton rounds BUT I found I use less product to do the same task so I can’t consider it a negative!

Great alternative
The first time I washed these on the delicate cycle and there was quite a bit of residual makeup left. Since then I wash in a large mesh bag on the regular cycle and they clean up beautifully. You do need to hang dry them, but we hang dry almost everything so not a big deal. They are larger than a typical cotton round so they did not fit my existing container. Not a hard problem to solve. An average qtip jar works well. There was a slight learning curve as toner does not instantly absorb. You have to give it a second to soak in or it winds up rolling off the round. All in all, less trash with minimal inconvenience.
