My redrilled units worked fine
I ordered eight of these. All arrived with the connector-end right mount redrilled. The new hole touched an old one. Aesthetics aside, my disks mounted fine. The sleds latch & unlatch, insert & remove, and show indicator lamps in each of my new R520's just like the Dell originals. I ordered at 5 pm EST requesting overnight. The box arrived by noon the next day. I don't know that remaining stock is fixed like this, but certainly I am satisfied.

Does the job, not perfect
Dell does not sell these separately from a new hard drive, so if you don't want to pay a huge markup for hard drives, you need these. They aren't perfect, but they're certainly good enough. What I mean by that is the screw holes do not line up perfectly with the hard drive--I had to use only 3 out of 4 screws on both of the ones I got because they just didn't line up with the hole on the hard drive. Also the color does not quite match the OEM dell ones. Only slightly off, but noticeable next to OEM ones. Also, there are no stickers to note the type/size of drive, but thats really just an inconvenience.Overall worth the price considering how much Dell upsells the drives for. The drives Dell uses are simply WD Black drives rebranded. You can get them here on Amazon for a lot cheaper.

Terrible
I bought over 12 of these for my two Dell R410 and R510 servers. They are bad design, cheap materials and most importantly do not fit the HDDs right! All of them have the hole for the screw slightly off which prevents you from screwing in the HDD. If you do manage to put in the drive please understand that this is for a one time, disposable use. When you inject the caddy you will very likely break it as is very cheap, lowest possible quality plastic materials. The LED light is also so dim you can barely see it. It's a total waste of money and you will regret it. Buy something better. If it's only a 1-2 you are looking for just get the original dell part.

Fits and looks just like OEM. No screws though.
Fit my Dell T610 (with 3.5" SATA drives) without any problems.Appearance wise, once installed, these trays are indistinguishable from the Dell OEM ones.Did not come with any screws, so keep that in mind.Other than that, it's a great deal.

Reduces the Dell Server price
I bought a Dell T310 Server and I planned to add 4 existing drives from a broken HP HomeServer using RAID-5. I was stunned about the DELL hard disk prices: 500 GB >$200, 2TB >$450 and this typically for Western Digital HD. Better-quality Seagate products you can find at Amazon for 500 GB <$100 and 2 TB <$180. And I had already 4 drives... So I bought the server with Hot Plug option (+$50) for 4 drivers and with one 500 GB HD (the cheapest). As result I received only one hot-plug caddy. And Dell does not sell them without drives (guess why?). So I found these caddies and they worked better than I expected after reading the former reviews:- It is correct that the wholes for the screws are not 100% precise. I had no problem with 2 caddies (all 4 screws fit well) but at the third I had to expand one whole with a tiny file. Of course this takes some time (and reduces my review to 4 stars).- It is correct that there are no labels. But especially for RAID-5 it is a good idea to write the drive number on the label too, because only all 4 drives together (with one optional broken) create a valid virtual disk. So I used my Brother P-Touch labeling system to create tiny labels with number, size and speed.- The drives fit well into the caddies.- The caddies fit well into the Dell server.- The LED at the original Dell caddy is a little brighter, but all LEDs are still easily visible. My personal recommendation for buying a Dell server as long Dell sees HDs as a profit machine:- Always buy "Hot Plug". It is just $50 more and you get also the better LCD display. If in RAID-1/5/6/10 configuration a drive fails, you can remove it in a minute without switch off the server and open the case.- Buy the server with the cheapest HD which Dell offers, usually 500 GB. If the capacity is too low, use this drive somewhere else (for example for RAID-1 in a desktop).- Buy more or all drives (for RAID-1/5/6/10 with same size) separately. Of course they don't have a Dell warranty. But Seagate or Hitachi themselves offer 3 years warranty. And who seriously is calling the Dell service if a hard disk in a RAID system fails?- Buy a hardware RAID controller, it is required for RAID-5, increases performance with RAID-1 and simplifies the RAID setup. For one drive, Dell pre-configures RAID-0, but you can change this easily on BIOS level using the RAID controller dialogs.- Buy these caddies and have optional a small file and a label system available.
