Just another Dark Angels story
Just another Great Crusade era story about the Dark Angels and their Primarch. The story is nice and entertaining but that's about it. Despite the title it isn't the Lion's origin story and you shouldn't expect much in the way of character development. It offers some insights into the organisational structure of the 1st Legion, so that's nice if you're into that.

Great read!
Good insight to the lion and the xenos that he faced down. Highly recommended to any dark angel fan and fans of space marines in general.

More Dark Angels Skulduggery
- as per usual with the first legion, it's a struggle to get a strong sense of what their objectives, goals and values here+ However, this is communicated clearer here than in any other book+ Provides insight into one of the most reclusive and frankly irritatingly mysterious primarch, the Lion+ Great, accurate depictions of the strength of a primarch+ Fascinating reveals of some of the secret weaponry that only the first legion possesses+ Genuinely menacing depiction of a great crusade-era psychic xenos enemy, does a great job on building on the legend of a bygone era+ Interesting facets of the emperor's relationship with his sons and specifically the Lion revealed, especially in which parts he placed into each of them
