Unusable. 20-25db of hiss in the signal. Noisier than 99% of interface preamps.
I wanted to like this thing. The build quality seems better than many of the other cheap in-line boosters on the market. Unfortunately this is the noisiest booster I have ever used. It is MUCH noisier than the preamps on any of the 3 interfaces I own. Easily 20-25db of hiss in the signal as a baseline. There is literally ZERO reason to use this thing unless you want to ADD NOISE to your signal. I'm fairly sure this wasn't just a QC issue either as it was on sale and several friends also purchased this and had the same noise/hiss issues. Do not buy this, it's a waste of money.

Seriously defective
An inline microphone preamp is used to boost the signal from the microphone to improve audio quality: clean gain. This was defective out of the box. First, the xlr cable connector portion did not lock the plug into the jack. Worse, there was so much noise it essentially drowned out what was being recorded. That's how bad the product is. Then it started popping and clicking. Totally unusable and unconscionable to market something so useless.

Turrible
Hoping i can take the internals out and make them work in something else....but in its current form...its useless. Its noisier than not using one, and the xlr port at the bottom is indeed a hair small as other reviews say

Connectors are mis-sized.
Don't buy - this is absolute trash. Trying to connect it to standard XLR cables requires a vise and removing it to return it will very literally break your XLR cable connector. Save $ and buy a dynamite.

Unable to connect cable - improper size
Unlike the images provided in the description, the unit is heavily chrome plated for some reason rather than anodized as the photo might suggest. Without the plating, you might be able to insert an XLR plug. But as is it would require a lot of force to insert the connector. I have nice cables so I don't want to jam them up. - Can't recommend this.
