Very handy for fine soldering work
I love this thing for fine work. Much easier to control your heat temp and overall control for pinpointing soldering work.

All-purpose soldering pen torch
I love the design of this soldering torch, this is the only one unique mini soldering pen torch I had ever seen that can be directly connected to a 1lb MAPP or Propane cylinder, the fuel gas it used is much hotter than the butane gas, so this soldering torch can heat up faster and working in more tasks than other ordinary butane pen torch. The BLUEFIRE propane torch is a Ready-to-Go full kit, including a Hosed Torch, a spark lighter, a swirl flame nozzle, a soldering head, a hot knife, a double sharp iron, a 2.4mm soldering iron, a soldering needle, and a polyfoam cutting tip, plus all these are placed in a hard tool box. Almost includes everything for a soldering projects. Great priced tool made of quality! With this price, it is almost a pure steal!

Pretty worthless...
This is nothing more than a glorified, overpriced solder iron and foam cutter. You can do exactly what this does with any old $10 solder iron, at that. The torch feature is completely useless. It didn't even get hot enough to melt flux or low temp resin core solder. Turning it up at all and it'll blow it's own flame out.The valve to the bottle doesn't extend and contract like it should with the knob. Off? On? Once on, there's no off till I disconnect the bottle (flame off, of course). I shove the valve up so at least gas isn't leaking out as I screw in the tank.I thought at least the striker would be useful. Nope. I don't know how you DON'T get a pezioelectric spark out of an instrument designed to do that.... Unless it sucks.Well, it only produces a spark in maybe 1 of 3 strikes. I have to practically shove the torch nozzle spewing gass into it to get it to light. You have no idea how disappointed I am. I'd wanted this torch for about a yea, thinking it'd solve a lot of my problems. Nope. Absolutely not. Just mire cleanup.Ever have something you hate yourself for buying? Yeah, this is one of mine.

A very useful tool for the Artists loft.
A very useful tool for the Artists loft. As a metalsmith I generally have a torch ie; oxy/acetylene, oxy/propane , propane, butane- aflame, whether it's for annealing, soldering, flame patinas [works great for adding a patina to copper], whatever your needs may be, this is an extremely handy little torch and for $49.00 [basic system is $39.00] it's a steal. I highly recommend this torch and I like it's physical structure as it leads well into a higher temp oxy/acetylene set-up. Handy and a great way to introduce new students to soldering and torch work. I highly recommend it...

Few tips on how to successfully ignite Bluefire HT-1933 soldering pen torch
The media could not be loaded. In case that some new users might feel difficult to ignite this soldering pen, especially when the soldering iron sets were on, there are some tricks I want to share:At first, turn on the gas knob on the bottle fitting, then open the gas control on the soldering pen to small flow, DO NOT turn it too high since gas flow too fast can extinguish any sparks.Secondly, approaching the spark lighter to the holes on the soldering iron seat, there is one hole that is larger than others, and by my experiences, this is the position that specially designed for ignition, just push the lighter and you will see blue flames come out of all the holes.NOW here comes the MOST IMPORTANT TRICK, DO NOT immediately turn the gas to larger when the flame is still blue! Keep it low or even turn it to smaller for few seconds until you saw parts of the ceramic media inside were burned into red, then at this time you can turn the gas to larger or maximum as you wish, and start your soldering job.I love this new toy! It is hotter than butane pens, and no more painful refill works, just connect to a MAPP or propane cylinder and it can continuously working for much longer time!

It works.
I got this for my little crucible. Not as hot as my Burnzamatic. But it’ll do the job, as long as you have time to spare.

Doesn't last long
I have purchased this item twice, the first one stopped working after a couple of days no gas would flow through it it's like the on and off valve was stuck shut, my second one lasted a little bit longer but the same thing happened, no gas will flow through it I have tried propane and map gas.
