Check engine light went out

My older gas cap was worn out, which resulted in the check engine light coming on and giving codes related to the EVAP system. Before replacing any of the other valves and canisters, which can be expensive and hard to reach, I started by replacing the gas cap.This replacement arrived quickly and was reasonably priced. It fit my Nissan Xterra perfectly and install was as easy as changing the new cap for the old.This new cap fixed my issues, so I didn't need to invest more time or money to solve the EVAP problems. So, mission accomplished.My only issue was that the old cap was held to the vehicle by a plastic lanyard, while this new one does not have that option. Yes, a minor gripe, but that was the primary difference between the old and the new. It doesn't affect the performance at all, so it's a preference thing.

Replaced the original 2006 cap with this. Good so far. No lights flashing or bells dinging on consul and the truck runs.

I like that it fit the tube and holds my gas in. Was hoping it fit in the lid cradle while pumping. A nicety the manufacturer evidently forgot to pass along to 3rd parties. If you want it to fit your truck like OEM go to brick and mortar stores where you can just open the door to return.Having to print a label, drive 20 miles to a UPS drop off location outweigh the cost of the cheap item. Forcing you to settle, live and learn. Or to the wise, learn from others.
