Must have in your tai chi library!
I thoroughly appreciate George Ho’s book “Can tai chi be self- learned?”. I agree with George Ho, yes important fundamental aspects of tai chi can be ascertained from reading and assimilated into tai chi self practice. For the most part, my knowledge and practice of tai chi have included reading various sources including the articles published by George Ho.I also agree that to appreciate tai chi and its health benefits does not require a martial arts application of tai chi. The results of mind -body integration and self cultivation from the pursuit of learning tai chi is demonstrated throughout the many examples in this short book. George Ho describes the 8 forms of tai chi, the importance of the postural pile stance, dantian breathing, the craniosacral reflex and the three amalgamations are all well described for anyone to comprehend and practice. Lastly, I suppose the real test is from honest self reflection and self assessment that yields measured progress of any skill such as tai chi. Thank you. PT - Winnipeg, MB
