The strips are useless and do not work at all. After triple shocking the pool twice (within 2 weeks upon opening the pool) and having 3 chlorine tabs in the pool, adding c. acid, ph up & balance tabs- testing twice daily hoping for a result... chlorine never changed -indicated no free chlorine. It stayed completely white and always unchanged. A color not even indicated on the bottle was showing for the overall reading. Regardless of what chemicals I added to the pool, the same reading happened every time. I used my old HTH strips that I was about to run out of and bought JNW 4in1 and got accurate readings on both that coincided with one another. 4 of the socks were open on both ends and not sewn together on the bottom. I've used the brush once. It is plastic and it loses bristles all in the pool, it also had mashed bristles on one small area. The floater seems to be working fine & the socks that were sewn worked well. If you want to pay $30 for a floater and a few good usable socks... then this is for you.

The media could not be loaded.  For the longest time, I have had dirt building up on the bottom of my pool. Inrealized that these are such small piece of dirt that they are getting through the filter. I tried using socks and nylons, and they work alright. After using the pool socks, you notice a big change in how clean you water is. They act as a better filter system and collect everything. Simple to install on the skimmer basket and work great. You could even wash and reuse these if you wanted to.

I needed some basic supplies for a temporary above ground pool, and a kit seemed like the easiest way to do that. Unfortunately the 7 in 1 test strips only have three test squares, and there was no handle for the broom head. The floater seems to work fine, and my son thinks the skimmer socks make a great Nacho Libre mask, so there’s that. If I do this again, I’ll just buy some quality test strips and call it a day.

We have Queen palms near the pool, that like to shed their seed husks (not sure that is what the pear shaped paper thin things are but that is what I call them). Most of them either stick to the tile on the sides of the pool and other sink to the bottom to be sucked up by the vacuum once a week. Some however, make it past the skimmer and into the pool filters. I had to pull the pool filters twice in the same month following high windy storms, and the majority of crap that I cleaned out of them was the seed husks.I saw some skimmer socks at the local pool shop and thought I could get by with some kitchen cheese cloth (the bandage-like material that you use to filter gravy and other cooking uses). When I could not get the cloth to stay on in fear of it getting sucked into the pump I decided to it was time to try them and quit being so cheap.The fit is good and filtering quality is better than I expected. The socks are catching some of the smaller things that only the pool filters have been left to catch. The water is visibly clearer now that I am using the skimmer socks! One glitch I did not expect is I had to buy a different skimmer basket that has a heavier weight to hold the basket down if the pump is not running. In other words, the skimmer basket was floating with a sock on it, when the pump is not running. Once the pump is on, the basket would settle back down. The new skimmer basket has a heavier weight that keeps the basket down.
