WINNER! It works! 4K/60hz mini displayport to hdmi cable is just what I needed for big screen use.
I wanted to be able to connect my work laptop to my big 4K monitor or to a 4K TV (when I buy one). The laptop is a Dell Latitude E7470 which has HDMI and mini displayport outputs. A standard hdmi cable plugged into my 43" 4K monitor (Acer ET430k) only connects at 4k/30hz (or lower), the mouse lag is bad and the colors are all washed out. Barely usable. I already own an AmazonBasics mini displayport to hdmi cable (about $10) and it tops out at 1200p (1920x1200). It works but I want 4K, not 1080p/1200p.So I happened across this Active UVOOI mini displayport to hdmi cable. Reviews were positive, thought I'd give it a shot. Not cheap at $21, twice what the AB cable cost. BUT, this one works. I knew instantly I had a winner when it came right up at 4K with glorious colors, the 4K/30hz connection had a very washed out look to it.The build quality of the cable is impressive, it seems very well made.So if you're looking to hook up a laptop to a 4K TV or a 4K monitor properly, THIS ONE IS A WINNER!Now I've only used the thing for a whopping 30 minutes so if it flakes out I will try to come back and update review. But for now, this does exactly what I needed and I am a happy camper. Wish I could return the other AB cable but I've had it too long. Into the drawer of unwanted cables it goes.

Solidly Built!
As devices which use the mini display port age and disappear, what a relief to be able to still find cables for them on Amazon!

It works..sort of.
It works...but after a while my monitor blinks repeatedly like it is overheating or something on that port and I have disconnected the wire and reconnected and that works for a bit. I tried putting it in the other hdmi port but the same thing happens. My monitor is an Asus VG32V and I am displaying from a micosoft surface pro 6. My gaming computer has no issues with the monitor.

4K 8 bit 60Hz RGB working on 2015 Macbook Pro
Plugged this sucker into my Macbook Pro, and got an instant 4K 60Hz output on my Sony 4K TV. Opened Parallels, Windows 10 reported 4K 60Hz RGB 8 bit, but unfortunately, no WCG/HDR available that way. I don't have Bootcamp installed to determine if HDR would work booted directly into Windows, but am happy enough I can use my TV as my viewer in FCPX, albiet at 8 bit RGB. My old mDP to HDMI cable was not capable of full 18Gbps, so when I plug it into this Macbook, the screen flickers and cannot sync because the MacOS will FORCE 4K 60Hz when it sees a 4K 60Hz device, so you need to ensure your cable can handle 18Gbps as this one will.

Makes PC unusable
PROS:Does 4k/60 as advertizedCONS:No Freesync supportCauses PC to freeze up periodicallyArtifact in gamesMakes games unplayableOverall makes PC unusableI never thought a cable could be botched this badly. I was excited at first to get this cable, however the moment after I plugged it in, the issues started to occur. My PC would periodically freeze up on me, wallpaper engine would lag constantly, and anytime I launched a game, there would be artifacting and the game would be a slideshow, if a slide show could lag.I went through an extensive troubleshooting process, including re-installing windows completely (diskpart to wipe SSD completely first) and installing fresh drivers. The problems persisted. Eventually I gave up and swapped back to my older cable that only does 1080/60 and all the problems ceased immediately. I'm using two R9 295x2 8gb GPU's so, running VSR at 1440p should be a cinch.Don't bother buying this cable, it will make your PC useless.
