NO HELP GIVEN and warantee sucks.
It worked at first. Now the computer portion no longer works and I cannot get any help from Pet Auto Door as their phone goes to an auto system and no one returns calls. Tried their computer email and cannot get through to them. Amazon only lets return within 30 days, although the company states 12 month guarantee. Would NOT recommend this to anyone as no one will help or return calls. When it was initially set up it worked fine, but then the computer portion went nuts and NO help was forthcoming from either the company who made it or Amazon. Not a happy camper...........

Waiting to hear back from company for help on this product
We purchased this less than 2 months ago and it was working well. Now it keeps saying it's jammed and even when we re-callibrate it, it doesn't work. We have to manually open and close it which defeats the purpose. I've emailed the company and am waiting to hear back. Per other reviews, the company is not good with returning calls or emails so if they assist us, I will change my review! This was an expensive product so I would hope it would work for more than 1-2 months!Update: After a few email exchanges and pictures sent to prove that mine was broken etc, they sent me a replacement part. My door worked for about 3-4 months and then something else on it broke. I wish that I had just spent the extra money and bought a door that wasn't such a headache....

This door malfunctioned so often we’ve lost over half our chickens!
I would not recommend this door. We have always used automatic chicken doors, they give you so much freedom when you have chickens! Our old one finally quit but wasn’t sold on amazon anymore so we bought this one. Seemed similar. I don’t even usually review things on amazon, but I’m so angry about this purchase that I had to! We are down from 30 chickens to 13, literally BECAUSE of this door. So not only have we lost our pets and our extra egg selling income, we are out $250+. 😡 Spouse has taken it apart and fixed it so many times, just when we think we finally got it figured out because it works for a few weeks, it randomly quits working again and a fox gets a another free dinner. Always a different problem, the power won’t turn on and we’ll have to take it apart to get it working again, doors clogged with dust, malfunctioning timer, and on and on. Look elsewhere, our previous door was cheaper and worked flawlessly for years.

Reliability is Key
I have now purchased 2 of these doors. The first one broke during the warranty period and they sent me a replacement. That was back under the old ownership. However, since they were purchased by Petautodoor service has started to suck. I bought a second device. After a year I have experienced reliability problems with both doors. They work, most of the time. However, once in a while it decides not to close. If you override the setting it closes easily. It's not mechanical, it's electronic. Why does this happen? I've no idea, because the manufacturer doesn't respond. I figure the computers are imports from some underpaid workers, and the quality just isn't there. The basic concept is good, I'm willing to pay ~$300 for a door that will automatically open and close. However, next time I'm going to try another manufacturer.

Buyer beware
I purchased this April 13, 2018 and the LCD screen went out and it no longer works today. It had to be reset about 5 times from electronic failure. When it worked, it worked well. We used it with a solar panel. I would recommend one with a simple light sensor instead of this one. I tried to call the company. The website is down and there was no answer, however, it is Saturday.

Automatic coop door
I don’t know why I waited so long to get this coop door. I go to work in the late afternoons before my hens go in for the night, so I have peace of mind that the door is set to close each night. The door fits perfectly on the inside of this coop. And it opens up each morning for then so I don’t have to interrupt my sleep to let them out each morning. I love it. So do my girls because they can count on it opening and closing at the same time, and they are definitely creatures of habit.

Very reliable. I'm so happy with it.
I have 35 guineas and 15 chickens all living together free ranging in the day. At night I put a light on a timer at dusk and they all come into the coop. I have trained them with millet. This way I can leave in the afternoon and not worry about being home to close them in. We live in the country and have not had any raccoons bother the door. I have read some of the reviews about not working. Mine is mounted inside the coop. I have not had any trouble with it and have now used it for 3 months. Definitely worth the money.

Was Great Until it Stopped Working
I bought my door in July 2017 and it worked well until July 2018. After the first year, the batteries started draining faster (which is odd), and then at the 1.5 yr mark, the door completely died. It won't even turn on. I would have expected it to last much longer. It's hard to recommend this product since it didn't last. I can share that the door is mounted inside my coop and is not exposed to weather elements.
