Warms up fast and stays warm for a long time. It microwaves to a toasty temperature in just 1.5 minutes. First I use this on my feet so that my blankets get warm and then I move it to under the small of my back. It’s just the right size that I can sleep on it and it seems to stay warm a long time it is so relaxing. I look forward to using this every night especially since the weather is cold.Recent update,... I love this pad so much I decided to buy a second one. So now I can have this on my lower back and while my feet are getting toasty!

This product is good. I keep mine in the freezer so that I can grab it right after my morning exercises. I wrap a towel around it because it of course gets cold. The cold last about 1 1/2(depending on how frozen it is when you start off). I takes a while before it can be willed to bend to where you want it( in my case my shoulders), but I definitely like the length of it. I covers my full shoulder back and front. Material is durable too. Not to costly and worth it if you use this sort of thing frequently. (I do). So, I recommend under those circumstance.

The medium size is not 14 x 10 as advertised...it is more like 13.5 x 9.5 when measured. It is smaller than expected, but still works. You need to manipulate the gel around in the 3 sections to get a comfortable feel. I'd recommend a large, if you want something that covers both mid & lower back.

I bought 2 of these; one to use as a cold pack, the other as a heat pack. As a cold pack, its substantial and it will stay very cold for some time. You will need to wrap it in a towel otherwise the plastic cover is tough on the skin. Unfortunately these do not hold up well as a heat pack. They gel inside does not distribute evenly, and as a result it heats up very unevenly. While the pack can be agitated to create consistent heat, there is still a big flaw. I have found that the edges will overheat, singe the liner, and create holes. Once the holes appear the hot gel inside the pack will leak out.

I am happy in general with the quality and the price. Seems to hold heat fairly well.I disagree with the statement in the listing that says the "design keeps gel distributed throughout the entire pack". There are two dividers that run the length of the pack but they only cover about 2/3 of the length of the pack. So the gel can easily move past them. When I got the pack, most of the gel was in the first two compartments. Not a big deal to knead the gel to move it around. But the merchant shouldn't advertise that the "design keeps gel distributed throughout the entire pack", when in my opinion, this isn't the case.

Having had rotator cuff surgery, Applying This Gel pack to my neck and shoulder has given me so much relief! I was having a lot of pain after physical therapy and especially at night! TEMPTHERA works wonders!

Liked that it could be used for both heat and cold. Nice large size which was needed for use on knees.Found it a bit stiff from the freezer, but it worked just as well, and was more flexible if kept in the refrigerator.
